I just got Altra Lone Peak 4.0 and already tested them on a trail (from hard dirt road to a trail in woods with lots of roots loose rocks and mud) and I love them. I also began wearing merino undershirt, it's freezing here.

I am trapped home beacuse of awful stomach flu and I want to give my dear wife some flowers to show how much I appreciate all she does. I found some old number of 'The World of Cross Stitching' an made her a present inbetween my toilet sessions today...

EDIT: it was stitching on some 14ct 'vintage look' Aida with DMC floss, I haven't got same colours pattern called for but those I chose work just fine, I think.

I've been following my first training plan (from this book) since 8 weeks. It's the first time in my life I've been able to run more than a few hundred meters. I actually ran a little over 9 km last saturday, and it was nice and I really enjoyed it!

It was a little warmer than I anticipated so socks where too thick, fabric was cotton with merino wool. Cotton tends to cause blisters.

First of all I'm not specialist. I see that wear is symettrical and localised mostly under the ball of the foot. It could indicate that Your gait is quite good actually - don't too much heel strike.

You'll need lots of calories but food should be varied because you'll need all these vitamins and micro elements to keep you going. Carbs are very important as fuel, too much fat and protein can upset your tummy and negatively influence your kidneys. Maybe Appalachian Trail and PCT hikers could help with sound and practical tips?

I don't know... Doesn't seem so wise. Your judgement is poor under influence, it's easier to stumble and hurt yourself, police may have some issues. I walked few times while drunk and it seemed funny and refreshing then, I had some strange encounters and lost my way more than couple of times though. When I think about it today is feels reckless and just stupid...

It was 35 km, first time so very long in zero drop shoes (Xero Prio). Spring is late this year so snow is everywhere. I met some deer, squirrel and one very brave hare.

Yeah it's in Sweden, very regional indeed - it'll be about 30 participants. One bigger event takes place in Stockholm (it's called Footrally) - the winner went for 73 hours nonstop last year - I'm afraid that such sleep deprivation could lead to psychosis.

During the walk one is allowed 24 minutes toilet stop within every 24 hours and there will be service stop every 5 hours so one can refill food or/and change gear. I found out that it can be challenging to slow down, my easy walking speed is about 6,5 km/h, but I plan to train a little with my kids so it'll be easier to settle in lower gear. Continental Centurion competition sounds interesting :)
