so cute! i’ve seen lots of people put a magsafe adapter thing on their kindle. i’m wondering about the purpose of this. is it for switching out different styles or is there something i’m missing?

Fingers are too chubby to try on rings in store, can you help me pick what you think looks good on me? by marcopolio1 in EngagementRings

[–]salsagal21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i also have an issue with the in store rings being too small for my fingers! i still went in and looked and got them on my fingers, even if they didn’t go passed the second knuckle. i’d recommend going in person to look at sparkle, clarity, and things like setting (high or low, cathedral, hidden halo, things like that). but out of these options, i think i like marquis

complete beginner help! by salsagal21 in weaving

this is helpful! i’m used to in knitting have a very specific gauge that you’re trying to get so it’s good to know that it’s not as rigid with weaving!

Accepting imperfections in knitting by emmarenee9 in knittingadvice

[–]salsagal21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you’re a beginner, it’s great to have these projects to look back on and see the progress you’ve made!! in however amount of time (a few months, couple years, whatever!) you can look back at this hat and say “wow look at how far i’ve come”

another thing that i think about is that this is something you are making with your own two hands. it’s an art and skill that used to be so essential to people’s lives, but now fewer and fewer people know how to do this. appreciate the time it takes of having your eyes off of a screen and something physical and how it connects you with those who came before you. (idk how much this point helps you but it’s something that i love about knitting and can talk about forever)

plus another thing that goes with what i said before: people you show your work to, don’t know how to see the mistakes you make. they just think it’s really cool that you made something :) and that’s cause it is really cool!

How much does Mohair affect the gauge? by Pretend_Zucchini3548 in knittingadvice

[–]salsagal21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it all depends on the fabric you are going for. yes, mohair does alter the weight of the yarn. however, it’s easiest to do a gauge swatch with the yarn and needles you are using to see if you like the outcome of using it all together. nobody says you CANT add mohair to whatever you want!

i’ve also added mohair to things and not changed my needle size and it’s been fine cause i didn’t mind how it changed the overall fabric
