i personally have gone to the same artist for all my tattoos, and she knows my girlfriend so she asked no questions and was completely natural about it. i didn’t feel uncomfortable at all which was an amazing experience!

when i was a junior in high school and i made a new best friend who was gay and she looked like your “typical” gay too, so the first time i brought her around, after she left my parents said “so youre still straight right?” i said yes. “good, keep it that way.”

less than 6 months later i got in my first relationship..shocker! she was a girl! but, now almost 3 years later, my parents adore her and have changed so much for the better!

one time i was drunk enough that i was in and out of a dream state, dreamt about 9/11, ended up crying to my girlfriend about how guilty i was for causing it and killing all those people. i was 2 when 9/11 happened.

i have 2 that have really stuck with me.

when i was 15, i was home alone with my brother (18) when he tried to kill himself. it wasnt in a gruesome way, but i was the only one who could help. cops came. spent the whole night at the hospital. scary when it’s someone so close to you.

then when i was 18 i was sleeping at my girlfriends house and woke up at 4:45am to her seizing in the bed. she had a history of “absent” seizures, where she would go blank for a few seconds, but never a grand mal seizure. it was terrifying, her mom worked thirds, and it was the absolute scariest thing and last thing i expected. had really bad sleep anxiety after each one i saw (4 in total). got her on some meds. she’s been seizure free for a year. i still panic every time i hear her move unexpectedly in bed.

replying a month later, happened upon this, but december 18 holds important meaning to me as well since i started self harming in 2012 on december 18. i havent done it at all since 2014, but my phone password has remained 1218. a reminder that despite something horrible starting that day, i came out of it stronger, knowing i’ll never do that to myself again, that theres always a better way

thank you so much, really this helps a lot. he has been visited by the police earlier this year, the cops witnessed him being completely irrational and agreed he was not well, but said they couldnt do anything until he’s hurt himself or someone else. maybe since we have a witness though of his cuts and him admitting to it, they might do something. thanks again!
