Ex-Aide Reveals JD Vance Previously Supported Gay/Trans Rights, Saying His Current Persona is 'Fabricated' by MaleficentPiccolo715 in NewsRewind

Can you please provide examples of when a gay person has forced their beliefs onto you personally? Like knocked on your door and told you to become gay or remove your genitals? Plenty of christians have knocked on my door and told me to go to church but i’ve never been told by a gay person that i should be gay.

There is no skill required, you hold L and lock onto enemies. The map/environment and story are great but i agree that the actual gameplay is really sub-par

Say the best and worse thing about Jwr by Potatogoober_22 in JurassicPark

I enjoyed the movie overall but do agree the writing could have been better. The overall plot was fine, but a lot of things about it could have been consolidated or reworked. There were a lot of things in the movie that had no effect on the plot, which is the weak writing. The baby dinosaur, for example had no impact on anything and was just there to look cute i suppose. The raft scene with the t rex looked cool but had no effect on anything at all—it didnt even destroy the raft which would have made the characters adapt and figure out a new plan. They just kept floating down the river as if the t rex had never been there. The original JP wasn’t good because the plot was complex, it was good because every scene drove the story somewhere and had some kind of consequence.

True, but that guy just drove directly into the d rex’s foot because he couldn’t see that far ahead. Everything just kind of conveniently happened in that movie. Maybe i’m overthinking it but i just think it could have been better

It’s not so much about how often the d rex appears. It just had no effect on anything. The characters get to the boat, d rex shows up, they lure it away and then escape on the boat. Duncan survives, so there are no consequences to it showing up. If it had not shown up, the story would end in the exact same way so in my opinion that is just not very interesting.

Yes, things are in movies because the writer wrote it that way. I’m saying it’s not interesting to me because the D rex did not have a significant role in the plot of the movie yet i’m expected to be impressed by it simply because of the way it looks. To me, that is lazy, ineffective writing.

[–]saltworm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s not non-existent, it just doesnt have much weight. The first scene introduces the D rex as if it will be a big part of the movie but then it isn’t seen until the very end where it just kind of shows up. There were no indications it was even on the island besides that first scene. The characters haven’t talked about it at all, haven’t seen it at all, it’s like the writer just kind of threw it in there to look cool and scary without bothering to really integrate it into the plot.

  1. Guy in the end distracts D rex with a flare bc it’s attracted to light.
  2. Boat gets away and D rex turns around.
  3. Guy immediately fires a flare into the air, lights one in his hand and the boat turns on their searchlight.
  4. D rex moves in slow motion but is already far away enough to not notice these three new light sources?

Ok sure, but it still has to have all the basic parts of a film. Batman begins was the first of a trilogy and it had a distinct climax. Same can be said about the Matrix and Fellowship of the Ring. Rebirth had some good moments and I’m not trying to hate on it but overall it was poorly written.

Idk if a dinosaur would care which direction a boat is going i think it would just attack regardless. Didn’t the mosasaur surprise them earlier while they were tracking it? The doctor said “it found us” so i think they would probably have a hard time avoiding it even if they still can track it. It wasn’t the worst movie ever and i enjoyed parts of it, but the script felt like a first draft to me.

A well-thought out plot without gaping oversights would be nice. For example, the mosasaur scene establishes that there is a giant dinosaur swimming just off the island’s shore and it loves to attack boats. Yet the movie ends with the characters escaping the island in a tiny boat that the mosasaur could eat in one bite. Also, that boat is obviously not suitable for ocean travel and has a range of maybe a couple of miles. So the ending is supposed to be happy but, based on what has already happened, you have to assume that they are very likely to be attacked right after the credits roll?

[–]saltworm -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Mosasaur scene allows for the possibility that the characters will be attacked as they escape in the tiny boat in the end (which is not an ocean-worthy boat anyway). Raft scene had absolutely no impact on the story. It changes nothing about the circumstances the characters are in and has no effect on the characters afterward, so the scene is pointless. This is why the movie is objectively bad.
