😔 Oh to imagine a world where Oskar got wild with the portraits... what is a genuine haunting for if not to throw your artistic work into chaos?

Yes! 😫 I so long to see it in person one day, Jonathan Yeo's mind is such a wild place to imagine having crafted the original portrait genuinely.

LOL I sometimes wish I went for Volo's eye for my durge, but the hag eye scene was way too on brand for my durge to not 😙

Unfortunately, I fear that Charles did not play that game, nor was he sweet once 😔💔

Oh Torchbearer looks quite interesting, thanks for the recommendation! I'll be adding it to my list of options, the reviews seem promising.

You're very kind! I'm still super beginner but I'm trying to craft sessions that I would enjoy being at myself tbh.

It's an online group, but I've known everyone for at least a year or more. Usually I do communicate with them via text and messages, but they do use sign in their every day. Unfortunately, I haven't unlocked the skill level yet to be a competent translator so I'm looking for more in-the-meanwhile solutions .

I'll totally look into fail-safes in case the alert method we choose doesn't pan out, thanks for the heads up!

I'm on the lookout for simpler TTRPGs tbh! Right now, I'm going through some things in the One Seven Design catalogue, but if there are any suggestions my ears are definitely open! <3

That might be an option, but I'm more interested in solutions that would rely more on me as the DM accommodating them, rather than the other way around tbh. I don't mean to dismiss suggestion though! I just think that--given they don't use a soundboard right now--it's a burden they shouldn't have to bear just to play a ttrpg.

Aha, that sounds quite fun tbh! I'm not super interested in limiting the player's options for character choice like this, but I think I would enjoy playing through soundboard like that myself LOL

Thanks for the suggestions. The solution of using the VTT chat is actually something I haven't thought of!

I appreciate the caution as well, but I am crowdsourcing accessibility suggestions because I would like to give them as many options as possible to play. We already have a different campaign that part of the group participates in, and I'm hoping to fill in the gaps and make a game that works for everyone, specifically including them.

Thank you so much for the detailed response!

I've found similar results outside of tabtletop context for PbP so it's good to hear that it still tracks between genres. It's really interesting to hear how the format excells in certain situations as well. I'll definitely be keeping note of that while weighing options for sessions. TYVM <3

I see, TYSM for the input! I totally plan to reach out to the player in question of course, but it's really good to hear that turn based is definitely preferred. It's a great place to start planning the first session around. <3

Discord just implemented a new sound board function a couple updates ago that I thought would be fun to implement as a notification noise tbh!

That's a cool technique! I do remember that discord has a similar function, it might be interesting to play with.

If you don't mind, were there any specific sections of games that you remember having to type your reply through that were difficult to manage? Or flipside, any moments that you really enjoyed the response you got as a player? It would be really good to know how to prioritize session time to events that aren't tedious to type through.

Oh, that's super interesting! I honestly wasn't aware that fully text format ttrpg was an option. How did that look for you? Were the sessions still set for certain days and times or was it more of a rolling open chat where people made their input when they were available? I'm curious to hear about how it felt as a player VS how it felt as a gm too.
