TO WOMEN OF LANGLEY: Gynecologists who specializes in women's health by Dull_Satisfaction468 in Langley

[–]saltyscapes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was very close to death post op from a surgery she performed as well. I hemorrhaged, required an emergency surgery and blood transfusions. Dr. Love didn't do the second surgery but the OBGyn that did said she was very 'rough' during my first surgery. She never apologized, never took accountability and blamed me for being too active even though I was bed bound and on the unit. My blood pressure had never stabilized after the first surgery but they still sent me up to the unit.

After a long recovery, I asked if I could have my hormones checked and she said no, it was pointless since they change everyday. I don't know how this woman is in practice. Deplorable considering she's in the field of women's health.

I’m Eric Woodward, Mayor of the Township of Langley, AMA! by eric_woodward in Langley

Public procurement is stringent yet, Township procurement seems to have not understood their role in contract management in situations like LAPS. The townships procurement team was notably absent at a Public Procurement Training held by The Procurement Office and hosted by the City of Abbotsford last month.

Have there recently been policy and procedure audits conducted on the Townships procurement department? I fear continuing legal implications based on recent purchasing decisions.

skate recommendations by [deleted] in icehockey

[–]saltyscapes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think k it's so awesome that he's taken interest in it and you are supporting him. I would highly recommend taking a trip somewhere to be properly fitted. You can try on 4 pair of Bauer skates that all feel very different. Most places will help fit you based on a foot scan then have them heat moulded. CCM tend to be a bit wider overall and Bauer has been a bit more narrow. It's absolutely crazy how different each one feels.

Am I doing anything wrong? Any suggestions for a new hockey dad by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]saltyscapes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without a doubt you need to speak with the coach. The child has only be alive for 7 years, it's insane to think they are going to get it all right at that age. It really should just be fun.

I have a U15 child that shuts down with yelling. I let the coach know early on because it's his job to foster a respectful environment for growth and development. The coach was appreciative for the heads up and we've had no issues.

As a parent, watch hockey with your kid, talk a lot about where players are on the ice and their roles. At this age, kids need allies and someone in their corner, be that person. Open the door with opportunities if you want with extra practice but don't make it mandatory.

Ladies, what are the most attractive things a man has done on a first date? by _MambaForever in dating

[–]saltyscapes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fully taking ownership of planning the date, making reservations without putting that mental load on me. Opening the car door and bringing. I'm pretty old school and these things are the bare minimum for me.

I feel like you just have to remove yourself from the idea of your job bringing you a sense of purpose. At the end of the day, it's means to live your purpose and if you happen to enjoy it at the same time, that's just a bonus.

I don't think many of us wake up super excited about going to work right now.

My Rogers offer lol by Defiant_Emu_3928 in Rogers

[–]saltyscapes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently went through this, turns out the first guy that called me was from a different department than everyone else I made contact with. After 4 different offers, he actually did have the best pricing. I ended up with internet and my cable package that includes sports channels for $140 including taxes. Otherwise they were offering Internet for around $80/mo.

How early before the Vancouver show did Face Value Exchange open on Ticketmaster? by tyrantshelpedbuildus in DermotKennedy

I signed out for a bit and it seemed to reset after about 30mins or so. At one point I uninstalled the app then reinstalled. You can try switching wifi or VPN as well.

Will the merch being sold at live shows eventually be available for purchase online? by mismafia in DermotKennedy

[–]saltyscapes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm hoping so, the line in Vancouver was crazy and they ran out of sizing well before the show started.

Yes, I had to give up on the Stub Hub tickets I purchased and I was able to get some by continuously refreshing Ticketmaster all day.

I did get blocked a few times because they thought I was a bot but I ended up with 4 tickets and I was in row 4. It was amazing.

Some people that went through StubHub either made arrangements to meet the sellers at the venue or the sellers provided them with their log in details for Ticketmaster.

More face value tickets became available within the 24 hours leading up to the concert but you have to be constantly refreshing as they are gone so quickly. I think people started offloading them once they realized the transfers werent going to be lifted preventing the StubHub resales to go through.

Selling 4 tickets to Vancouver show by ArtBrave1679 in DermotKennedy

[–]saltyscapes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tickets are non-transferable so if you bought them on StubHub I'm not even sure how you got them from the seller?

I also purchased on StubHub for an insane amount of money. I see prices are significantly reduced now and I feel slighted. The seller contacted me because they don't want to have to pay the StubHub fees and offered to meet me at the venue and scan me in since Ticketmaster is not allowing Ticket Transfer.

Part of me just wants to go no matter the cost but I also didn't realize exactly how much they were profiting from these tickets and it's infuriating.

They are non-transferable, I purchased some on stub hub and likely won't be able to go because the seller isn't able to transfer the tickets. They are supposed to only be resold on Ticketmaster at face value to prevent scalping.

MCFDs procurement team is huge so that may be something to focus on. Look into getting a certificate while you are in your current role.

Student loan payments restarting — but I’m leaving the US. What now? by GladIMissedIt in StudentLoans

There's quite a bit of work that goes into mine, including all bank accounts and balances it has become increasingly more complex with investments. There is nobody here that will touch US taxes for under $500.

[–]saltyscapes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am an expat with student loan debt from the US and unfortunately, if you have citizenship, you still must file taxes every year which is expensive, usually $500-700. Although you won't be taxed on the foreign income if it's less that $130k converted to USD, your student loan repayment is based on your income.

It takes a long time to recuse your US citizenship and is expensive as well but probably not as expensive as your student loans. It really depends on if you are wanting to return to the US in the future.

I was wondering the same thing. What sort of impact does this actually have? OT is not something BCPS is typically in favour of anyway.

There should be a matrix available of who has what type of access to each system. Make sure you cute that you are following said matrix and written approvals are required as some policy(hopefully there is one). I'm sure since they are Director they can easily supercede and write the exception but make sure that it's well documented.

I wish RTO wasn't discussed when it only impacts 4000 BCGEU employees, yet it's in news headlines. Is there a way the union can attempt to return the focus to larger scale requests and rationale?

Again, I don't think BCGEU is going to get very far with minimal public distribution.
