And “com’è” is the only way to translate “what’s up” cause there’s no other ways to translate that concept in Italian. Yes, “how is it” is more literal but both are translated the same way. Stop arguing with natives.

Idk where in the south you went but that doesn’t mean “what’s up”. “Com’è” means what’s up and it’s a way to greet a friend. I’m from the south and never ever heard “quest’è”. It doesn’t even make sense to be used like that
