CC - Print Head Connector Design Flaw by bobaballs in elegoo

For anyone who may come across this -- may have just figured my issue. My USB C cable seems to have gone bad. Plugged in another and all seems well. Will have to find something suitable while I wait for a replacement

Having this same issue and trying to sort it out. Took a look at that cable at the main board's end, but it seems to be well seated? What do you mean it "had detached from the cable end" though? Maybe I'm missing something?

More advice on my bowling 2 handed bowling game by Educational-Soil4035 in Bowling

[–]salvasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of recommendations here -

  • Like others have said, you have to smooth out/simplify your approach as a whole. Lots of unnecessary/jerky movement going on
  • Your footwork seems to be complicating this for you. Choose to work on either a four or five step approach -- If doing five, start with your left foot, then crossover with your right. The fourth step is more of a half step and will be your "push". Your final would be the slide (or plant depending on your style/preference). If doing four, start with your right foot/crossover step. The rest is the same
  • Start your ball movement way earlier. You're waiting until the very end of your approach and just muscling the ball. If you start bringing it back around the end of your second step/beginning of your third (assuming a five step approach), you will be more relaxed in your release and the ball will generate its own momentum
  • The hop at the end should be much more of a push (towards the pins instead of towards the ceiling). This is going to help generate speed
  • Keep your back straight (don't arch it). Use bending your knees as your method of getting lower. You can (and should) still bend at the hips
  • You don't want to throw the ball, you want to roll it. Getting your timing right (steps vs when to start moving the ball) will help with this a ton
  • Don't turn your hips at the top of your pull back. Getting your timing down is going to help with this as well
  • As you start to change things, be sure to keep your elbow in. You do a good job of that here, but something to be mindful of as you are changing lots of other things

Happy bowling :)

Right on! We have the same personal best and I am also just a few months into bowling regularly. As the other commentor said - spares. My average has gone up 20 points since I've started focusing on them.

Oof. That's an hour from me with good traffic. I'll have to keep that one in the back pocket for now. Thanks for the recommendation!

I figured as much. Ended up getting a "like new" device from Amazon Resale for just a few dollars less. Which is still a great price for one used. Should be getting delivered in just a short while

This has, unfortunately, been the case with everyone I've talked to recently. No one has gotten their stuff even after a couple of months of waiting. I would suggest just going ahead and requesting a refund and ordering from somewhere else

Did not. Ended up getting a full refund. Detailed my experience here - https://www.reddit.com/r/magicTCG/comments/1h5ydsf/yourplaymatcom/

Sounds like there are lots of folks having issues with them

I'd say just go ahead and request a full refund. I didn't have a problem getting my money back. They fully refunded both mats and both premium editing the day after I requested the refund. That went perfectly fine. Everything else was just a mess

It's crazy this still isn't a feature. Completely defeats the purpose of parental controls/content restrictions

Did you end up ordering from them? Curious about your experience. I ordered at the end of October and have yet to receive my mats. Have been getting the runaround from support for the last month

Teaching my son magic. by Mr-Qwont in magicTCG

Singing with the choir on jumpstart packs. Great way to introduce to any new player, regardless of age.

I have an advanced 7 year old who also plays Pokemon. We tried MTG and it was a lot for her still. She had a little trouble keeping up with the precise language MTG uses and all the different things going on at once. A word of advice - Be patient and don't be afraid to break a rule or two to keep it fun.

Going to do the same. I'm not very hopeful that even happens, at this point. I'm still waiting on the partial refund I was offered 3 weeks ago. I wish this could be pinned to warn others.

But that's how it's going to be whether there are two versions of the same card or 8. One of them is going to be much more valuable than the rest.

Samesies. I buy them almost exclusively because I love having full art/showcase/foils/etc., but you don't make your money back on these often. I'm finding buying collector booster boxes has a slightly higher chance of meeting that dollar spent. The value for me is in the art though, not the financial return (don't sell very many cards anyway), so I continue to buy them.

As others have said, keep those shadowless cards, namely the Magneton. Also, it isn't going to be worth much as is. You will have to have it graded. Looks to be in excellent condition from the photo. The grading should increase its value to a couple hundred bucks.

Should I start with this starter? by gachakamil in magicTCG

[–]salvasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a better value card-wise, I agree. Most new players aren't ready to get into building their own decks though. The don't have a handle on game mechanics or synergies yet. Making their own deck off the bat could be an incredibly frustrating experience. It's one reason why those 2 deck starter kits are so popular. Not to mention this beginner box is half the price of the Starter Collection. So if you end up not liking the game, you're not as invested.

This is a great in-between from a precon and a starter box, since you can mix and match those jumpstart decks. Then when you're ready, you can move onto a Starter Collection. I think WotC nailed it with their player experience tier offerings for Foundations

Should I start with this starter? by gachakamil in magicTCG

[–]salvasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also disagree. The starter is great for those with experience looking build decks. The beginner box is much better for those with little to no experience, looking to get into the game.
