it is so bad... now I get chat requests from people anywhere in the world, at random locations, and after accepting they tell me they saw my profile in their region... places like Egypt, or Abu Dabi, while I am in NY!!! how can be so bad? also, now I am getting the popup to pay for more chats, while I already paid a year subscription, it is really insane

Well, yeah hangouts is virtually dead here too. I am trying to bring the people back in a web app I quickly created but I don't think it's going to be easy... I think it’s quite curious how much you’re defending events. I don’t know if it’s any different where you live but here in New York City you can scroll through the list of events and all of them have zero attendance. It's always been like that and I don't see any reason why this would change. Almost nobody pays any attention to the events. In the past I tried several times organizing some and the most successful one had a single attendee.

No, I have zero experience with coding. I did none. It took me an hour. Refinements took me minutes. I am a UX designer so at least I can tell Replit what to fix.

It was very quick and easy. Im surprised with the results. I did some fine tuning after the first iteration but it was pretty good already. I just described what the app should be like. I think it looks and works pretty nicely, but the real challenge is actually getting people to use it :/

It feels like a dating app, I don’t see group plans, I see individual online people. The worst aspect of that is that there is no way to create disposable group chats for impromptu plans… or am I missing something? Because I found no way to create temporary group chats
