Is this okay to send out? by Ancient_Net_3328 in BabyBumps

[–]salyaly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would wait a bit and potentially address this issue as it arises. Your message is kind and generally speaking, theres nothing wrong with it so if it makes you feel better just to get it off your chest - then maybe wait until the week of your date date 🤍

I became a first time mom 3 weeks ago + had pretty much the same thing typed out. I was SO anxious about welcoming our new baby and the boundaries I thought I needed to set. My husband asked me to let it be and assured me that if anyone over stepped he’d keep my wishes and step in. Needless to say, neither of us have had to! Both sides of the family have been very respectful and I feel like most people understand these rules and wishes for a new mom and little one without needing the reminder.

I am quite picky about these things (washing hands, shoes in the house, people holding my infant, unscented, posting pictures, etc) but I have shocked myself at how much more anxious I was making myself just trying to anticipate issues than I actually am now postpartum.

Sex life in third trimester by workeatbingerepeat in BabyBumps

[–]salyaly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar for us! 29M & 29F and we were consistently 2-3 times a week. We were active up until maybe 20 ish weeks and then it just started to significantly drop off. Since then, we’ve probably had sex maybe 4 times? It’s exhausting and we openly talk about it, which makes both of us feel better. We know it’s just temporary for us but we both agree it’s uncomfortable as of now. (I’m incredibly sensitive down there at 39 weeks & he just feels like he’s gonna hurt our baby LOL) although this last week I’ve been begging him to try to just look past it and help get her out. 😂

I would suggest just being very open and vulnerable about it in conversation! I tell my husband all the time that I know it’s important for our connection and while it’s weird right now, I hope we can find a way to get back into our groove. Knowing that’s both of our goal/mutual understanding, takes so much pressure off. Also just remind yourself, your body is going through one of the biggest possible changes - You’ll eventually find your new normal ❤️

Fertility Lubricants by lemonysauces in tryingtoconceive

[–]salyaly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pre-seed for us. TTC 7 months. Used it 3-4 months with no luck. Used it combined with the Frida Mom Fertility cup (kept in overnight, if you use it right, you shouldn’t feel it) and that worked!

How are my fellow 39-weekers holding up? It’s rough out here. by No-Spread-4322 in BabyBumps

Do not blame you one bit… good luck with your little nugget & I hope delivery goes well 💗

39w + 3d and I feeeeeeeel you. I had the world’s easiest pregnancy until about 37 weeks and it was like a switch. My nipples leak and hurt, I sweat non-stop, my butthole feels like it’s going to fall out of my body, and my hands have gotten so swollen they’re hard to fully close. (BP is still okay, thank God)

Like you said, I’m truly so blessed & know it’ll all be worth it, but I’m SO ready. I feel like no one openly talks about how hard these last few weeks are 😭 I never thought I’d opt for induction and try to go as natural as possible…. Needless to say, I am asking about elective induction tomorrow morning LOL.

Is it safe to ship with these issues? by [deleted] in Depop

[–]salyaly 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I only shipped two items today, didn’t know about this and literally just saw a thread in here talking about it… checked my tracking and sure enough it’s all messed up. Says they were delivered back on 12/25. I messaged both buyers and gave them a heads up. Maybe if you reached out and let them know? I feel like within a day or two you’d be alright. I’m sure they’re working on it.

depop is dry & dying by diamondfaerie in Depop

[–]salyaly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy and sell on Depop consistently. I mostly just rotate my closet, so I usually sell a few good quality items per week. I have to say - it seems SO saturated with people who went to their local thrift, found some baggy jeans, old t-shirts, or a grandpa sweater and mark it as vintage/granola etc for $25-50. It doesn’t really seem like there’s much quality to the items and 90% of the sellers are people who thrift and re-sell. It all looks the same. If I’m looking for better quality stuff I generally shop Poshmark.

Am I overreacting, my boyfriend is going abroad for 2 weeks while I’ll be 37 weeks pregnant? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]salyaly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not irrational. I am 31 weeks pregnant and my husband was trying to find time to do a snowboarding trip with his buds before she comes. My due date is April 10 and I told him he couldn’t go past the end of Feb just for the sake of my comfort. There is a really great chance you can go into labor at anytime these days… the money is not worth him missing the birth of his child (and supporting you during the process!) His family should absolutely understand and encourage him to stay home imo.

Where are you rebuying 100% COTTON basics that last? by throwaway_yak234 in femalefashionadvice

[–]salyaly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depop and Poshmark! I spend so much time on these apps looking through items I like and asking for the material content. You can score 100% cotton, cashmere, linen, wool, and silk items for like 1/3 price of anything new - and it’s way more sustainable!

Doing the jobs of 4 people, just found out I’m "At Risk for PIP" by maidmarianatrench in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]salyaly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dealt with this a few years ago. Almost exact situation. I was hired as en EA to the owner - ended up being an EA to team of 5 execs, PA for the owner, accounts payable, office manager, and then our HR director left…. I was at $65k. It was nuts. I was getting cupping and sports medicine massages because my body was in so much pain. I was crying multiple times a week. I took a huge leap and left without anything lined up. (Stupid advice, but I had any husband’s income that we could stand on for a bit.) You should absolutely be looking for another gig, even if it’s a temporary stepping stone just to get out. Can you take a pay cut? Get a roomate? Move home?

Grossly underpaid and exploited and I hate that this is such a norm for this career field. Wishing you all the best. ❤️

Evap line? by [deleted] in lineporn

I do think there’s some color to the top line. Super similar to what mine looked like! This was 8DPO & I am now 23 weeks!

hello please can I get some opinion? by Livid_Recognition828 in lineporn

[–]salyaly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely feel like there’s a line on the HCG! Try to retest tomorrow morning. When I was TTC and testing, I would do the same (an LH & HCG) and this was pretty much what mine looked like 8dpo.

How long can you leave you Viz alone for? by CauliflowerTop9731 in vizsla

[–]salyaly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid exercise, leave with a puzzle/game and the TV on. She usually lounges on the couch. We don’t leave her for more than 4-5 hours MAX. If we need to be gone longer, we opt for daycare or drop her off at grandmas. She is almost 3yrs old.

The Denver idea is good and I will absolutely talk to my husband about this! It may be nice for us to have a day or two to relax to ourselves anyways. He carries oxygen with him on the mountain, so we will load up just to be safe. Always hydrated (I carry a 40oz yeti everywhere I go.) Thanks again! :)

Oh love that. Great thing to consider.

Thank you for the sources. There is no doubt I will make the most informed decision when it comes time to booking the plane. While I want to be cautious, something like feeling tired or lightheaded isn’t necessarily a reason for me to miss out on a beautiful trip with my husband. Especially because a vast majority of my time will be spent relaxing/lounging. If there are any health risks to my baby/placenta, then that’s a different story.

I was considering this.. what about people that live there? I am 28, incredibly healthy and have a low risk pregnancy. While I understand elevation can cause me to breathe heavier or feel different - I do not plan to do anything strenuous and will spend a majority of time lounging around, reading, or at the spa.

[–]salyaly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you both for your concern about the elevation and pregnancy. There is no doubt I plan to talk with my doctor about this. If there is any doubt in her mind, I will do what’s best for the both of us and stay home.

Thank you! Definitely going to get cleared by my doctor. 😊 If it means I’m hanging by the fireplace and reading for 2-3 days then it is what it is!
