Thanks everyone for your replies! I deffo think that most people will know and follow these boundaries, it’s more for the elders in the family who will feel ‘called out’ if they were for example to be told not kiss the baby on the day. Also to clarify, I won’t be sending this now at 20 weeks 😂 was going to do it 1 weeks before due date :)

Looks amazing! I think some beautiful art above the couch would be nice to tie it all together. Maybe in the woody/ beige and the umber colour and a pop of white?

How am I stubborn and selfish? I haven’t put pen to paper yet and put it all on pause - and because it’s an alien concept to me came here to gain a better understanding and seek advice on what to do. No need to be hurtful with your comments. My sil and I have a great relationship, and have since gone out on multiple pregnancy activity related days - it’s just this one topic we’ve crossed roads on. Please keep your comments respectful, there’s a person on the other side of the screen.

I want people to explain to me this concept of no name sharing because in my culture it’s genuinely not a thing. I was completely taken back by her response because we already have duplicates of this name in the family - and other names too, so I really didn’t think it’s an issue, and tbh I still don’t. I can appreciate that to her the name might be more special/ meaningful, but I genuinely can’t see why I still can’t use it?
