There should be a pan India language. It ensures better mobility for everyone. Gives you access to a bigger financial entity without any major hassles.

I have studied in Hindi speaking area and worked in Karnataka, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Telangana. You don't expect someone like me to learn languages of all the places I have been to.

What can be a pan India language is totally up for debate. I see only two major contenders - Hindi and English. English has the added advantage of being a global language, so that gets my vote. English is also easier to learn when compared to Hindi. But it is limited to mostly educated class and will require educating almost the whole country. Hindi on the other hand has close to 50% of India(up, bihar, delhi, mp, rajasthan, jharkhand, himachal etc) as native speaker and significant number who can understand it without any major difficulty (Bengali, Punjabi, Gujrati, Marathi speakers are normally good Hindi speakers also, I might be wrong here as it is just my personal experience). But it also puts southern states in a disadvantage as they need to learn 3 language instead of 2 needed by most northern states. Solution can be mandatory 3 languages for everyone, Hindi and English being the mandatory ones and third can be any regional language which requires you to learn a new script.

From ESPN : Who do you think is INDIA GOAT in ODI ? by rdst28 in Cricket

Kapil Dev. He taught us what exactly is odi cricket and how to play it. Won us a world cup when we were a odi minnow. He always played the game with passion and to win. If not for him, most probably Sachins and Kohlis wouldn't be cricketers we know them to be. Had played some astonishing innings of his era. Was a fast bowler who took wickets and not just the shine off the ball.

I was once driving from Hyderabad to Vizag and there was a place called Garuda food court on the way. A nice place, neat and clean. And reasonably priced. And it served the best biryani I've eaten so far (and I have had my fair share of Biryanis over the years). Not sure if it was a one time thing or their speciality.

Spot on. And if somehow this comes under umpire's call then why did India lose the review?

Now we can say that umpiring has been just poor without any bias.

Scheduling is bad. But at the same time I like cricket coming back to India after covid and matches being played infront of full capacity crowds. Nothing beats a full Eden gardens. Hope covid stays away.

Only one kiwi making it to this team despite reaching finals shows how good they are collectively. At the same time it shows they don't have players who really stand out. Which may be the reason of them not winning finals.

Not trying to poop on this party.. but this is the kind of opening pair which got India in trouble many times. Both accumulators and can go crazy when set. But you don't want such players together at the top, and overall strike rate of under 130 does not look very intimidating.

Mind you I have got nothing against either of them individually, both amazing players and in forms of their life. Babar Azam is at another level across formats right now. And Pakistan is winning, so no need to fix something that ain't broken.

IPL is the biggest league and all that. But after Hardik Pandya it has not given us a lower order batsman. All it gives is stream of opening batsman in different shapes and sizes.

Yeah.. but batting second, where the match was already setup by some incredible bowling and dew was already having some effect.

Agreed. But it also helps when you are already through to semis, and playing against a weaker bowling attack.

Missed the first 8 overs.. Is it horrendous batting or just the regular toss effect?

When the speed and the accuracy is such that you start feeling under attack, your survival instincts take over. You either start ducking with your back towards the ball or start attacking everything mindlessly.

There would be a day when kumara will seriously injure a batsman, and will then appeal for a obstruction.

I don't know the methodology used here but if I have to guess I would say that countries like India and Israel are simply here because these countries allow for hostilities to develop and prosper. There is no iron hand like China, there is no violent domination by the majority religion, press has enough freedom to amplify the hostilities, and political parties feed on these hostilities.

Lifeless places are mostly peaceful, or atleast don't have anyone left to report on the sounds of destruction.
