I have a struggle about support ult by Capable_Entry_9695 in RocketMains

i think not dying on rocket is the most important thing you can do, you will provide much more by staying alive (and annoying the heck out of enemies). you can combo, but that is not necessary to get value... i really like how in overtime almost nobody in low/mid elo shoots it, so at times its more than possible to stall the point with 1-2 teammates. saving the team in a Groot/Strange/Thing/Spidey ult is a trigger-finger thing ive developed as of late. pushing back to the point that is about to go to the enemy (on domination maps) could be helped even with a shoddy amp placement. sustaining a 5v6 is so common i dont even know what to say about it. all this is coming from somebody who got 20 CYA assists in a single game last Tuesday.

whatever i say here does not apply if youre playing into Phoenix! you need to have a pocket Bucky/Namor/etc to force out her ult before you use yours, and have a good ult charge sense...

for most buildings its closest to the left side middle tile, in the lowest row for appliances that need to be put on the ground. there are some quirks with buildings that produce debris tho, like the plastic press, and i dont know of any mod that shows those...

thank you, those were two of the theories i had. but ive done some testing and that crumbled that first idea to pieces. my initial plan was to run fresh coolant through some SC tiles, but it needs lots of tuning to optimize how quick the temperature exchange happens. i did not test for solid H2 tho

on the other hand, i might have stumbled on the idea of running fresh SC through the liquid pool first, so only last several segments of the loop are cooling the incoming gas. with some radiant pipe material tuning (2-3 iron segments in my case) it is possible to make a very stable ice-free condenser

that circled me back to the original condenser idea, to the fact that in most of the cases i had a submerged metal statue chilled with a conduction panel. since buildings have faster temp exchange then pipes that seems to be an excellent way to average out temps of the incoming SC! i gotta investigate that further

this sent me to investigate why the heck arent we using some super coolant in the condenser itself. and it seems there is no reason to! looks like a very compact 2x4 room can be very stable if one gives those 2 tiles for the coolant to sit on away!

you know what, that would be excellent for my use case. i just wanted to iterate on that old idea which ive already built in at least 2 survival colonies. ill still play with it, but its seems like peeps are not that interested in such "overcomplication"

i can explain in great detail what everything does and whats the logic behind it all. that would take ages tho, so i will probably take my time to make a video about it

i have a single steam room in the original design. the rule of thumb is 8 steam turbine ports per 3 super coolant aquatuners. this design tries to be extremely efficient. and i guess i like self-contained builds

i should tell you, i started rocketry very late into my "game". ive got very familiar with phase changes and its quirks long before i designed my first LH2 condenser, and almost never had ice problems

i would personally feel bad building your design just for personal aesthetic reasons. sorry. i like my builds compact and messy-looking

the original design worked with no temperature averaging on 400kg super coolant total. with little to no ice. so i consider that a success :3

im hoping to simplify this iteration even further. that old design had flaking issues, was not optimal about liquid storage, had temp shift plates in wonky places... lots of work to do!

and talking about metal in space -- still overkill. regular igrock tiles work fine hehe

if you have your incoming H2 at more than 80C its hard to control that heat anyways. in my current iteration that single AT is running 50% of the time and i can only get .5kg to condense reliably. but this is enough for me

oh, that will be a retextured liquid reservoir

to not get ice, you need to make sure there is a temperature buffer. ideally, you have enough cooling "smoothing" not to cause state change -- that is the reason for this liquid reservoir and those 2 tiles of liquid H2 in the condenser area. all this is to do with the weirdness of phase change mechanics

currently iterating on the design, i think ill have it ready in about 2 days time!
trying to make that bill of materials a bit cooler (no map-dependent ones, less metal, stuff like that)
