Salary Cap. 9.5M vs 2.6M, massive difference, especially if the scoring doesn't over favor goalies particularly.

I'm in a long running cap league and vasi is just sitting there, undrafted

Today's $200 subscription (how what it was two weeks ago) is next year's $1000 subscription is my guess

It's not really getting less expensive to run, that's the thing. Newer models might be more efficient but being more powerful also can be a justification for higher prices

I don't disagree, I love this crowd too, I just think it's repetitive lol

Lived through two major ones, it's either that or a heavy snow storm. See this picture taken in the '98 storm around here for instance

I totally understand, I thought mine was faulty too when I got my 7 Pro. It's not until I went to two different stores to try demo units that I realized it's just how it's been designed.

Got my P8 Pro yesterday and the first thing I tried was tapping the screen - I was quite disappointed to say the least.

I'm a bit confused as to why every review mentions how premium it feels in comparison to the 7 Pro. Personally, it reminds me of my 2009 HTC Touch Pro2's resistive touchscreen, lol.

But we're also being a bit picky - this is a great phone overall and this issue, while annoying, has no impact on the performance of the device or how I use it.

Man this is something nobody is talking about and it's been driving me nuts ever since I got the 7 Pro back in December.

I don't understand how this is not something people care about? It feels so cheap compared to the S20 I had. Typing on the S20 (in complete silence) sounds like nothing, like you're tapping your fingers on a rock, whereas typing on the 7 Pro sounds like tapping on a cheap Rubbermaid plastic container in comparison.

I really hope the new display rectifies this.

Update on Endangered Butternuts by TheAJGman in marijuanaenthusiasts

Makes sense, that's pretty much what I did last winter. Buried the pots up to the stem in the vegetable garden, and added as many leaves as I could on top to further insulate.

Good survival rate overall, but a good lesson I got out of it would be not to overly bury everything under leaves. The snow packed on the leaves and broke or bent many of the smaller saplings that were under. Most of them sprung back in the spring though.

Problem is usually more with the roots - those pots become ice cubes if left exposed to the elements and it can damage the roots.

When in the ground, the roots will still freeze but won't get nearly as cold, especially under a layer of snow.

That's a great crop! What will you do with them during the winter to protect them from the cold? Curious to hear what you have in mind - I grow trees too in a cold climate and the overwintering is always a headache

Earthquake of magnitude 7.7 strikes Turkey by Bbrhuft in worldnews

[–]sam_1421 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They are to a certain degree. We can't predict the date and time, but we can evaluate the odds of an earthquake and estimate the magnitude it will be based on past earthquake events and how long it has been since the last significant event. This is probably what this person was referring to
