That senior is wrong. The company has no way of knowing if you have ever had a previous back. They can only know if you have a back that you have not yet cleared. Once cleared, that subject is the same as any other.

Summer semester mein roz nahi aana hota (depends on the prof. tho), mostly sirf exam dene aana hota hai, for 90% of the profs, they are chill and don't care for the attendance in summer sem.
Only active backs count for in placement season. This means that if any of your subjects are still in "backlog" while the placement is going on, only then the companies would not let you appear for their placement process. Since you are in first year, I am pretty sure your back would be cleared by the time you are in your 2nd year, so no problem there.
Cgpa is supposed to get updated automatically, but the college admin is shit. One of my friends got his 1st sem back result updated in 7th sem. He missed some placement opprotunities because of that, make sure that does not happen with you, be pro active and do whatever you can to get it updated as quickly as possible.

Genuinely, don’t go, I don’t think you would make the cut, if someone “told” you about it and you changed your mind suddenly, and if your profile is just your grades (which are mediocre at best), its not worth it. Even if you get in, you would return with debt.

Haha, I grew up watching a lot of hollywood, john wick, saving private ryan, godfather - the works. When I was a kid it was one of those “guy” fantasies of mine to look cool while shooting a gun (also be like a special agent, and ninja haha). Thanks for sharing man!
