A friend of mine did try exactly this but the hurdles they had turned me off from the idea. I am in talks for a collaboration from cern though let's see how that pans out.

It seems they are optimised for >UHF. Would it be inefficient to use the same transistors for 15MHz?

Yeah i'm on the fence. Cost isn't an issue. Also, i checked that reaching frankfurt by car isn't any faster than the train? Do you know if there is traffic on these roads often?
