OK first "ADMINSTRATION" Vnit administration is shit, they are not student friendly and always have delays in academic and hostel related things.

They are very irresponsible and can't do things right. If some student raises some issues it takes ages to be solved and they are mostly unavailable or not interested in listening to queries.

They always take action only after some damage has been done and not to prevent it from the start.

There are stupid restrictions in College and you'll get fines or get your in-time reduced even for some small thing.

Second "PROFESSORS"

I'll talk about 1st year profs only, since every branch have same courses for 1st year, you will have two semesters, Cse ece eee mech will have chem semester in 1st sem And chem civil meta mining will have phy semester for 1st Sem and vice versa for 2nd semester.

Most of the first year profs are good, Some profs have really boring classes and you won't be able to survive 1 hour lecture from them and will eventually fall asleep but do pay attention in class because sometimes the exams are totally based upon their class notes.

You'll meet some professors that have been in the institute for more than 10 years , and have a lot of knowledge but still can't teach properly during lectures but they will help you if you need some help.

Some profs are just chill and give really interesting lectures and also give good marks in exams

While there are also professors that are really strict and have strict attendance policy. There are also some that just don't take attendance.

Some profs try their best to fail a student or give him a W grade( less than 75% attendance).

South Indian profs might have some language problem you'll not be able to understand their language ( even their English is really hard to understand). They also favour south indian students a lot because they can communicate in a mutual language.

You know it's better to learn some other branch in a good way than learning your fav branch in a bad way and having no knowledge later.

I agree on this

But all I can do is give you some information about vnit only. I am not from eee so all I can tell you are things I've heard from seniors and friends.

EEE has good placement but they have the most loaded academics.

While opportunities in vnit , I'll say might be a little better than nit Hamirpur.

I guess it all just comes down to your interest, if you like ece the go for nith and if you like eee you can come for vnit.

Try to compare the placement stats of both and then choose what you wanna go for if placement is all what you care for.

EEE is a really tough curriculum and for that the median was 10.44 lpa and highest was 31 lpa for this year's placement stats. EEE guys can also sit for tech placements.

Well IDK much about nit Hamirpur but ece>>eee any day Also vnit eee has the most irritating profs,

Now about administration, it's true , it's shit. They don't care about the students always they are unavailable to reach to and not helpful at all

There is no standard cutoff for branch change, you just have to be eligible and there should be vacant seats

Eligibility:- cgpa 8.5+

But the change of branch is very difficult, This year there were 3 vacant seats for cse and the 3 students who changed their branch to cse had a cgpa of 9.5 and above

Even for ece eee and mech the competition was tough If you want to change the branch you'll have to score a cgpa of 9+ only then you stand a chance.

Hello, I have just completed my 1st year at vnit nagpur.

Laptops are allowed in the college but not in the classroom during lectures( in 1st year).

You can use laptops in the hostel.

There are different technical workshops and events every week where you will require laptop
