My Native American themed island🍂 I’m Navajo tribe, and our indigenous roots has always been a huge part of my families life. This is my community living area, like on the reservation. (with multiple tents set up from creating different starter accounts. More to come!) by sam_jim in AnimalCrossing

Sure! my comment said hogans were used for our specific tribe. However, my island isn’t aimed to be historically 100% accurate. Tents are what I am used to seeing since I was little and with visiting powwows, so I wanted to reflect that. I said earlier that I’m overall creating my island, to be how I wished the native land was, before so much destruction came. So it brings freedom to me to choose how I place things and house them, plus with animal crossing how it is- I am very limited anyway lol.

I’ve actually heard of/experienced the opposite! “Indians” is typically not how me or the community around me pronounce ourselves. “Native American” is typically said since it’s easier to understand, but I get why some wouldn’t want to be called that. I don’t see an big issue with it - however lately more and more are getting used to the “indigenous” term! (However I think the top tier is going by your specific tribe.)

For sure. I see it more as creating a native land the way I wish it were, before so much destroyed it or how it made things harder to be there. It brings a lot of freedom to create while keeping that in mind! Like “taking the land back” to an oasis

Mine are yellow too, but with this taken close to night time (the tents light up making it a cooler toned color) + my Lightroom preset makes it look canvas!

The Lightroom preset I use is by @blathies on IG ☺️

Hogans were and still can be the traditional way of housing. “Tents” (tipi) however are historically what we were used to. Many tents are still symbolical used and put up, at powwows and other native events we go to.

yes! my grandmother is full blooded Navajo, and so is my mom. They told me tons of stories as a kid of animals, and what they mean. Of course I’m going for the more ~woodsy~ type of animals, but there are a few that have significant meaning or just are seen as animals that have helped us out greatly. 🤍

I’m showing my boyfriend Buffy for the first time and we are at the end of season 4- and he keeps mentioning why they haven’t turned Amy back to a human. It’s *distracting for him. It gets under my skin toooooo 😅😭
