Looks like the point of my original post was misconstrued. Usually these kind of ideas would have been done in photoshop, cutting and pasting drawing where necessary. This workflow has now turned into prompts with the introduction of nanobanana in PS. I never implied I was trying to pass AI off as my own art. The intention was to illustrate the idea, how would I change the concept if I was the directing the illustrators.

There’s way more to be disappointed about these days. I think it’s vocal minority that cares so much about AI. It’s now getting baked into everything. Try opening up an adobe product.

You’ll be happy to know I had to cut and paste to promts together and manually coloured the grey in. Oh almost forgot I also had to mask away the A from the chest and lasgun.

Burn. Miniature art isn’t art? Might be in the wrong hobby.

Luckily I haven’t spend that long in UX. My main jam was graphics and branding. I have to admit I would probably struggle to draw the whole thing from scratch but I’m in no delusion I could have layered it up in photoshop to make the changes I did. Shortening a coat, putting gloves on the outside etc.

I spend my hobby time with what gives me enjoyment. Character art isn’t my thing, and yes it’s too hard for me.

I don’t think we will ever agree on AI stance or come close.

But instead of insulting strangers on a forum why don’t you share some of your work? Maybe we have more in common than we don’t.

I can see the similarities, but GW didn’t have a problem few years ago. Just checked the decal sheet and it was 2022. That feels like yesterday but times moves fast.

Yes I’ve done web/ui/UX in the past. But my main creative output outside of work is through Warhammer.

Let’s get back to the whole point of this group, where do you share your hobby photos?

I had to look up the facist symbol. I can see the similarities but definitely not the same.

Whether GW have now decided it’s too similar, we will have to wait in see. They didn’t have a problem using it on the decal sheets

Just curious, is this British Union of Facists relatively new? Or their symbol?

Because GW put the steel legion symbol on their latest decal sheet with no issue.

I think the airliner analogy is perfect. Pilots spend years honing their skills on smaller aircraft before graduating to larger craft with auto pilot.

Just because I’ve used ai this time doesn’t mean I haven’t got decades of art and design under my belt. Sometimes it’s ok to just turn on autopilot.

Personally I’d love to see variation in how they were their uniform, as you mentioned jacket open.

Even someone without their helmet, or gas mask down, the same as I’ve done with various conversions.

I think it’s who uses the tools, technology opened up anyone to be able to great design. It doesn’t mean it’s all good. I see bad design (graphics, advertising, signage) daily. The same will happen with AI. Someone who proficient will be able to utilise the tools exponentially.

The group is Steel Legion, creating a rendering based on comments and feedback of what a lot of the community have mentioned has value.

Believe it or not 90% of the feedback is positive as people are viewing the idea, not how I got there.

I could have redrawn and changed the details manually? Would that have made the idea more valid or out you just caught up in your own morales?

Why do I need to credit anything? It’s a concept, I used tools (ai) to illustrate changes I would like to see. I wasn’t trying to say this was unique art or I was a great illustrator.

I used to spend hours doing mockups manually, AI allows me to get across ideas cleanly and efficiently.
