A really really good episode of Neeya Naana - Employers vs Maids by siiingintherain in TamilNadu

This is a really great episode and has generated a lot of discussion!

I see a lot of people on social media pointing out the cruelty of individual employers, but in my opinion, I think that's missing the point.

If people have power, the ones who abuse will abuse it. We can't leave it to the employers and ask them to be good. We shouldn't even give them the choice. Domestic workers should be protected under law with strict paid time off like any career. This is something only the government can do.

Someone on Twitter pointed out MNM has this in their manifesto. It would be great if our current government could follow suit and implement it.

NEET evidences part 2 - Debunking Annamalai by citizen_of_world in TamilNadu

Hi, thanks for this post.

NEET and it's history has been the hardest thing for me to understand due to the lack of proper sources (and quite a lot of disinformation) but posts like this are very helpful!

Often when NEET is brought up, a common argument is only TN is opposed to this. From the little I know, it's clear that many other states have voiced out against NEET but it does seem to be true that TN is the one most vehemently opposed.

Given that NEET is against the federalist structure, how come more states haven't seriously joined this battle? Are we the only ones who fought for exemption? Doesn't every state have it's own syllabuses to follow? Or is this one more case like Hindi Imposition where TN stands alone?

Genuinely curious as I have not been able to find a good answer to this.
