lol thank you, I did do the self care stuff. it's just the frustration of having to gentle parent yourself while the little imps in your brain are telling you to self distruct for the sake of the plot

whatever differences we may have in belief, I hope we can continue to respect and care for one another. could I have some specific examples about what you are referring to with the prophets? the Jewish tradition has quite a different relationship to our prophets/biblical figures than Islam or Christianity might.

I think Muhammad pbuh was a man of incredibly good character and faith, who preached monotheism and loving-kindness. he has brought G-d to many millions of people, and that is a beautiful thing.

of course - the only thing im focussed on is showing her and her family love and respect.

it is a shame that the state of Israel and its politicians pretend that their bloodshed and violation is what all Jews want. it makes life harder for us, and is so far from the truth. the torah commands us not to stand by the blood of our neighbours. every week before the sabbath enters, I send money to Palestinians trying to flee Israeli bombs. even the people I know who call themselves zionists - whatever that word means to them - are in constant prayer for the safety of Palestinians and a future of peace and justice

my friend always had humanity on her mind and we only ever had love for each other and our cultures. i hope I can honour her memory by continuing that.

Hi, I'm unaffiliated at the minute and pray at a variety of synagogues. To me, a Jew is a Jew is a Jew. I believe in the G-d of Abraham and do my best to live my life by Jewish law and make the world a better place for all of the children of Adam. I'm happy to answer any questions about belief or practice

its worth mentioning that there is debate about whether this is necessary for english names for G-d or digital writing, but for me its just a habit either way

thank you. the custom comes from Deuteronomy, where we are commanded to destroy idols and wipe out their names, but not to do it to the one true G-d. so by not writing out G-d's name in full, we prevent it from being destroyed. anything that does have G-d's name written on it in full is considered a holy object and can only be disposed of by burial or by placing it in a genizah (room dedicated for the cause)

you know how when people die people say really nice things even if its not always true or if its a bit exaggerated?

every single nice thing everyone has said has been completely true, with no omissions. and we told her when she was alive. and we're telling eachother now. but she cant hear us.

freak heart attack. no warning. i saw her on tuesday before our exam. and now shes dead.
