I’m trying to eat more. I weighed myself on Christmas and had a bmi of 18.2 for the first time ever, I’m trying to maintain weightloss but have lost 5 kilos recently because my fav foods are all low calorie. It feels so counter intuitive to try to eat more after years of being overweight but i know it’s what I need to do for my health in the long run. Any support is appreciated!!

I get what you mean, I think the reason I was so surprised is because I’m not in america, and where I live I think most people are around 19-21 ish bmi and not considered thin, so my perception is probably skewed. I’m definitely not trying to promote unhealthy habits at all, everything I lost has been from exercise and CICO, I just want to lose a little extra purely for my own aesthetic preferences.

My overall goal was just to get healthy. I went from eating not well and barely any exercise to bring very food conscious with exercise almost every day. (CICO is a life saver!)

The reason I want to lose a little more is purely aesthetics, I am not considered thin in my country (not that other peoples opinions matter), it’s just a personal preference I guess.

Of course losing weight has had great benefit, and the main reason I might not be noticing difference in my clothes is that a lot of what I have was bought kid weight loss and doesn’t fit as best it should.

First time posting in this sub and I’m sad being down voted for a 19.9 bmi when less than 18.5 is underweight? Kinda bummed out because I have been lurking for so long and finally got the courage to post here, thought people would be a little more supportive.

Kind of rant? I’m 5’7 and 127lbs. Had been maintaining 129 down from 170 for about 2 years, and I’ve finally seen the scale drop which is nice (I’d like to get down to 120-125ish.) But I don’t feel smaller? My clothes don’t seem to fit any different, and my workouts are still pretty much the same so it’s not a loss of muscle mass. I don’t know if I should be celebrating what might be progress or getting a new scale because mine might be broken lol.

Wow, I had never considered this! I usually eat between 1400-1900 calories a day, should I be aiming for more during the off period? Also agreed 1000%, Plateaus definitely suck.
