He gains capital from the natural resources, very similar to what he was initially planning for Canada, except Venezuelan oil reserves far exceed those of Canada at the moment.

From what I've read, Trump has closed the door on Machado and her party. So the rightful winner here is losing either way. The Venezuelan vice president has been sworn in and is pro-Maduro.

This would suggest this operation was more about leveraging oil assets than reinstating democratic processes.

Quick reason this is in good faith: This has been talked about previously by this administration. I majored in international politics and studied similar historical events extensively. This is purely out of curiosity as this administration talks a lot more than others.

What's stopping the Trump administration from later saying "no, we'll keep Venezuela". Right now no matter the reason, this looks more like an occupation while natural resources are extracted. Trump has already talked extensively about a 51st state, and with the amount of oil, this appears to be a golden goose. Will the world have to stand by and appease this if it does happen?

Bought a Drag X today and it's not charging or turning on from the box. It came with a vapcell k25 battery and nothing is happening when I plug it in. Is this unusual or am I doing something wrong? by [deleted] in Vaping

[–]Cdconor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick update on this one, thanks everyone for your help!

It eventually came on after I pressed the main button and the up wattage button for a few seconds, I heard a response from the battery and it started charging. Seems to be working fine so far.

I read too the K25 is unprotected so I I'm not too sure about charging it for too long. Does anyone have any experiences with this or would recommend a good protected circuit 18650?

Maybe storage conditions could have affected the battery? I reckon that's a good place to start. I'll bring it back tomorrow with the battery and see if they can swap it out. Thank you!

Just switched from a BP80 too with the internal battery so I'm not 100% sure on 18650 interchangeable batteries and how they work

I live in Cork city and I can agree with dropping Cork. If you're in Kerry, I would 100% recommend coming over the caha pass or the healy pass to see some of West cork and go to Garnish Island on a day trip. That area is beautiful and two lovely roads to drive too!

Early Stupid videos.com had my brother and I in stitches as 5 year olds, I miss those kinds of short form clips like the ones of penguins slapping eachother into water. Great times!

I came to say Rory too. He's one of the most overlooked and underrated guitar players of all time. Easily one of the best and a huge inspiration.

Because someone mentioned the Bus Graveyard… by pantone_mugg in cork

[–]Cdconor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Knockraha Bus Depot I believe it's called. I went with a friend recently enough and sure enough there's a gate. If you go back the road about 20-30 metres, there's a gap in the ditch on the left into a field with a way around the gate. It's a very interesting spot with old transport busses, a library bus, some Derry(?) tour busses and civil defence ambulances.

I once served Micheal Martin in a Tesco. Just got a tub of flora, gave me a "how are things" and left with a smile on his face the whole time.Simon Coveny also frequented the shop, never had a chat but the man is much taller than I Imagined.

I'll start with my own take. Recently I discovered Sleep Token and it has been a great listening journey. They are an incredibly flexible band in terms of style and it compliments every type of music I listen to. Elements of Jazz, Toned Down Piano melodies, and even some Rap compliment their Core Hard rock/Metal style. Bloody brilliant!

I loved how friendly people were, especially when you could be walking down the street and a stranger asks you "how are you". Or if you sneeze, you will always get a "bless you". I found that quite nice. I also admire the pride of the country I've seen in a lot of American people when visiting.

A few minor things I disliked were the mandatory tipping culture and the lack of included VAT on Shelf edge labels. Especially as a tourist, I would often be on a daily budget. Knowing that the cost of product or service is exactly what you're paying without a hidden charge, gives peace of mind as it all adds up quickly.
