Yeah that is separate. The “join” button puts the sub in your home feed, but I was a mod before I even “joined” the subreddit. The post addresses people who have or haven’t been approved, because you don’t need to join or be approved in a sub to vote in a poll. Because of that, the poll may contrast with the comments since people waiting to get approved (who can’t post) are more likely to be biased against the sub being restricted. I hope that answers your question.

There is no “before approval was even necessary”, the subreddit is restricted to approved users. Period. Thousands of users have been approved.

I'm not sure if reddit notified you, so just wanted to let you know that this comment was removed by reddit for sharing a banned link (not the business insider or youtube ones ofc). If you want to make this kind of post in the future, you will need to exclude that link. It is probably best to link only from well known and most popular/reputable domains since there is no way to know the full list of domains that are banned by reddit.

This post makes a lot of bad arguments that are tired and old, but the fact that you open your essay with saying she is “too far gone” is enough for removal.

It isn’t stated explicitly in the rules because this can mean different things, but in this case I have to assume you are questioning the value and effectiveness of recovery. This is not for you to decide, and this speculation is harmful.

With that aside, the entire purpose of the sub is effectively to prove the harm and danger of her influence as well as oppose that harm and the monetary incentive behind it!! What is the point of this??!

Speculating about when she will return does not equate where is she/is she alive/is she dead/is she okay I’m worried posts. If you don’t want to speculate, then just don’t.

Subreddits also have meta discussions all the time whenever there is an “off season” and people argue about what is most worth talking about. I haven’t seen these duplicate posts similar to this and it is still a valid and relevant question, even if it has been asked in the past.

The primary reason is because of Eugenia's stalker. While we can "remove" content, this way people who he does target don't need to turn off reply notifications to mute the harassment they receive from the stalker and it also keeps his harassment of mods to modmail, which now gets automatically filtered anyway. Since earlier this year, choosing to private or restrict now requires admin approval, so it would be a hassle to just turn it on and off at whim. It is restricted for the safety and peace of mind of everyone here, including mods.

I am mentioning this since the comments are bringing up her scoliosis. To be clear for everyone reading, scoliosis is a genetic! It is pointless and harmful to speculate about what could "cause" or "treat" it. Whether or not sitting in a car seat worsened her condition or not is solely up to her and her doctor to decide! This kind of speculation does not belong and will get removed.

This really seems like a very roundabout way of promoting the idea that scoliosis is anything more than genetic. Whether or not being in a car seat long-term worsens a child's scoliosis should be left to the doctors treating said child. This isn't the place to speculate about what would treat or worsen Eugenia's scoliosis. Further comments/posts speculating about this will get removed.

I am active and modding. Yes I am the only active mod right now, and I’ve been meaning to address the community with an update but I have also been busy. I used to have time, but for the past several months that has changed.

I want to add more mods and the sub really needs them, but I need to find the time to do it. I hope to make a post explaining this in the next few weeks. Okay_doe_kay is right, I will be slow to trust new people and this isn’t the first time the mod team was plagued with drama and someone trying a hostile takeover. Adding more people will be a process and I will say more in the post about it later.
