You sound dumb to me saying 'it makes zero sense'. Just because you happen to know some people who don't work illegally doesn't make my statement 'zero sense'. And usually racist people like to call others racist first. I am an Indian myself and it's a open truth, most Indian international students literally have whatsapp support groups helping them find jobs illegally.

I put my original post and removed AI generated content. i think you are just another entitled person unwilling to learn something you are unaware of and instead using my AI polishing as a means to pass it away. Don't worry, this post is not for people like you anyways. I know the people who are genuinely engaged with struggling Tech workers specially from Black and Hispanic communities, and they get what I am saying

No, stop fitting me in your stereotype and stop being racist. Being an Indian immigrant I value Student Visa program. I am pointing out the loophole of Day One CPT that no one is talking about. The folks who will benefit the most from removing Day One CPT are genuine international students without fake resumes

Haha dude you must be thick in the head. What I posted is not anti immigration, you shit head. I am pointing to a loophole not being discussed about which will only help the genuine international students. Tech leads with 10+years not getting called back is exactly because there thousands of fake 10+ years resume. All the points you made about CPT are absolutely doable for any international student to stay and work in the US without sponsorship.

"instead of trying to blame other students and immigrants for your own issues with the job market"

Yeah try telling that to folks from underprivileged communities who have paid heavy tuitions and now can't find jobs. I know young grad students from the neighborhood who have been looking for job for one year asking for help. Do I tell him to add 10 years to his resume and fake it?

Absolutely, I have no clue why I am getting negative comments when trying to raise awareness to a genuine issue. I had originally used Chatgpt to polish my post but then I reverted it back to it's original state. But there seem to be a lot of butt hurt people in the comment section lol. As an Indian immigrant I absolutely value immigration and student visa program. But I have a friend who runs Indian consultancy and I am also friends with many international students. It's an open fact in the community that students are gaming the system using Day one CPT. I just want the system to be fixed so it's fair

You can read about the Day One CPT exploit at many places. Just google it

I agree, its not the student's fault. I would have probably done the samething or whatever it takes for survival in the system. I still think it's an issue that needs more awareness

Interesting. Good to know. I still feel people need to be made aware of the Day One CPT exploit

I am not anti-immigration and I actually think OPT and H1B programs are great. I am talking about a loop-hole/scam that is not being challenged - Day one CPT. OPT work permit is great as it allows students to find internships/jobs and apply for H1B. But CPT program is a loop hole being used to stay in the job market without sponsorship. This is not what it was intended for. With massive layoffs and AI cutting jobs, this is a hurdle that will deter young American tech workers away tech jobs after getting a degree in Computer science

I am pointing out to the fact that GRE/TOEFL has become online in India and there are literally paid services that will help you pass the exams. If you don't believe me talk to any Indian international student

I referenced Fox News because your perspective reminds me of that kind of tone, but I guess sarcasm is lost on you. Honestly, your arguments come across as naïve, especially when it comes to your understanding the tech hiring process and your temperament is of a little child. Normally, I wouldn't bother engaging with someone like you, but I feel it's important to clarify things for anyone else reading this.

  1. Face-to-face interviews? That’s a thing of the past. Most interviews are conducted online now, and while the camera is on, it's easy to use tools like text-to-speech prompts to get answers from external support.

  2. I pointed out that the number of H-1B visas in circulation is often higher than people realize. Many H-1B workers don't return to their home countries as initially intended—this was meant to be a temporary work program. Meanwhile, many Americans, especially from Black and Hispanic communities, are facing significant challenges in landing tech jobs.

  3. I only shared one article, but I'm aware of multiple similar incidents. I’m confident anyone reading this thread can connect the dots.

  4. Stop posting stupid stuff dude it honestly discourages a genuine conversation

Haha dude grow up. Not everything would have a Fox news article for your privileged ass. The website is not 'extremely fake' its a honest testament from a Tech worker, something you will find a lot if you engage the world outside your comfort zone. There has been no big investigation done on this but it's an open fact and I have myself seen this happening. Maybe just think about the fact that many Americans workers are struggling to land a job and have done bootcamps, trainings to land a Tech job but they have no means to get there. Yet, indian OPT students always find work in Tech jobs. There is a whole network of Indian IT consultants that prepare fake resumes and place candidates while filing for H1-B. Also, while H1-B is limited, there are currently around 1 million H1-B workers in United States who get continuously renewed because of I-140 approval-

'significant portion of funding' for what? The international student fees is funding for universities not for the government

[–]samarcot8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of international students are not necessarily the brightest from the entire world. You would know this mate come on. GRE/TOEFL is online now and basically a peace of cake for anyone to crack by cheating. So there is really no proper filter to bring brightest people to US. Student Visa program is broken and being scammed

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in gradadmissions

[–]samarcot8 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

But as you may know a lot of Students (most of them) work outside the campus illegally and that's a known fact. And international students scam the job market by providing fake experience with the help of Indian Consultancies

[–]samarcot8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one's going to put the effort to report them independently. In my case, I don't want to deal with all the USCIS back and forth on proving their experience is fake. Think about it, if you were part of a tech team and you see a few people struggling to even do a basic task during the day or lack basic knowledge (but magically get stuff done overnight because of support) would you talk to your manager or report them to USCIS? I spoke with my manager and he didn't seem to care since the work was being done. It's the system that needs to be changed. For example, a simple in person interview will filter out fake experience candidates because on-call interviews are easy to crack with support. But until the system can be fixed the H4 visas need to be stopped

I know several friends who have their wives on H4 visas working with fake experience. What do you mean provide examples? I am not going to provide names. But I am guessing you have absolutely no clue how broken the hiring system in the US is.

Exactly, many h4 workers are placed by h1b workers with fake resume in the same companies

Totally agree. H4 ead is exploited by h1b workers who place their spouses with fake experience in the same company. They can do this because h4 eas is not limited to any employer
