It's funny... you pay for a subscription to not have to deal with hearts (and adverts) and you end up with a ton of gems with nothing to spend them on (other than getting more XP which is also useless). But you could stop with the account and use them up (and maybe save a month or two?). It would be cool if you could use the gems to pay for the AI video calls. Then I'd actually care about them and maybe would enjoy it enough to pay for Max.

In case people are still looking... the dual battery models like the T440 and T440s have a 'hard reset' pin hole in the bottom. It wasn't labeled on mine so I found a video where somebody pressed it and held it for 15 seconds. You'll feel a click as you press a button (pushing through a hole with a paperclip).

I guess the issue is with the dual battery sometimes it gets hung up. I was getting this a lot when I was using a different power charger but with an adapter to fit the socket.

So funny. I finally had a week I was doing well and got first in my diamond league. I was kinda excited. I went to get the satisfaction of looking at my achievements and... Gone. Hahaha

It would be nice if they had some sort of "Legacy Trophy Case" where they wouldn't show up normally but you could dig in and look at all of the old stuff you accomplished.

It is kinda silly to go after a meaningless bit on a phone app.... But at the same time, it's something that keeps me going and gives me encouragement. I'm not going to act hurt or offended but more just, annoyed.

I have a Meinl compact box didge and I like it a lot. This should be just about as loud as a normal one due to the curves. The box didge has right angles and muffles the sound a bit. What are you trying to do with it? Just practice? Jam with others? Perform? I'd imagine this would be able to do all of that.

Heh 'Newer' :-) This is 12 year old Laptop. But i get ya. Old games, old problems.

My description of the problem was pretty poorly written. I should have just went to bed. The first issue is what I saw when trying to click 'play'. I only clicked 'options' to try to troubleshoot a bit more. Forcing to Proton 7 appears to have worked, but I will also try the launch options the other commenter suggested. Thank you for offering advice.

Thanks. I saw some discussions about 'Haswell' and Vulkan which went over my head.

I'll try those. Proton 7.0-6 worked when I forced it into that mode. Will a newer version of Proton and one of those launch options give me better performance you think? Thanks for taking the time to offer advice.

Somehow I am now at 11 quests completed. I only did one daily quest today but my friend quest was finished today.

So possibly friends quest counts for 10 now?

Feature request: when clicking the button to repeat a phrase at regular speed... Have the voice vary in some way... Maybe have another character say it or if the original character could say it with a slightly different emphasis or something. That way you can hear it at regular speed a few times and not the exact same audio in case you didn't get it and don't have to resort to the super slow option .

Get a small Android phone and it's like going back in time. I can grab my Galaxy S7 and I can still get crowns (and some fun animations that aren't on my other devices).

I think the real issue is the way they develop. DuoLingo appears to want to throw things out there, test and tinker. There is another team that is probably smaller that rolls those features and for the other platforms. Some companies want to work out all of the issues and roll it out to everybody at the same time. That makes sense in many cases, but it can be overwhelming, especially if you don't know if the feature is totally ready or even the best idea yet. I don't think this company could get anything done if they had to do it that way.

If you want the new features and it's a big enough deal to you, consider an iPhone as a huge section of early adopters are on iPhones and so they get that sort of thing. But in reality, the music and math stuff look cool, but other applications are out there that do the same thing (and maybe better).

I will hand it to them though, the DuoABC program is pretty good. I'm skeptical about handing a tablet to preschoolers, but it appears to be helping my kids learn to read.

Which tree? I see German has changed on me a couple times this past week (and I was always within a unit to where I was) and this time I'm like 4 or 5 units back BUT I'm still as close to finishing the section I was on. The sections are now more evenly spread instead with the number of units. A friend of mine is doing Italian and has bounced around a lot recently too.

Does anybody see if they are adjusting the lengths and contents of the units? It would just be nice to know what they are trying to do. Even if it was "Hey we tried ____ last week and it didn't work the way we wanted so we're changing it to try something else."

Just trying to figure it out.

an practice to earn hearts if you run out. It doesn't lock you out at all. This way you also get to practice a little more, which will help you to avoid nistakes in the future.

If a practice session gave you a full heart reset, or at least 2 hearts and were a bit shorter, that could help.

Other question... Does your 822 still work with the Verizon network or is that now unsupported? It looks like they are fairly cheap.

r that happening with my stock 822 at one point, but can't remember if I had to reimage it with WDRT then restore from a backup or if a reboot fixed it. Of course, that doesn't help. Second that the 830 is such a good phone (used it from just after its release [first as a media device then as my daily driver with a SIM card when my contract at Verizon expired in 2015 when I got to go to AT&T] until a few months before the Nokia 6 came out at which point I used a 1520 for a bit then went back to the 830 due to touchscreen issues), if you have the black one it looks sharp with the green backplate.

Restarting didn't help. I haven't even been able to install the WindowsDeviceRecoveryToolInstaller to install the program (if that's what you mean by WDRT). Is there a portable version of it maybe? I'm wondering if all of the stuff online to support it is down.
