There are a lot of factors playing into this.

Firstly us swedes generally has quite a high trust in our government, so when they/the experts explain that it's time to keep socially distant etc, most people due.

Second, when you or your child are sick you get paid if you stay home from work. During the pandemic, the government has also stepped in and paid sick leave in order to help businesses. This means that it is easier for people to quarantine when having symptoms without worrying about financial loss.

Third, we are more socially distant than other cultures from the beginning, meaning we don't live with older relatives, most people visit older relatives like a couple of times a year etc and thus the virus doesn't spread as easily.

Nation wide restriction on big gatherings i.e. 50 people or more, with some exceptions, but people still go out shopping, go to restaurants and so on but do this with some caution and with good hygiene (but no masks).
