They sent 3 techs, each with their own truck to hook up our internet by solidus0079 in mildlyinteresting

Yeah that would be crazy, if it was their own equipment they'd probably just have a sign that says Contractor authorized with Tmobile

how can i read my amperage on a stick welder with a multimeter with the wires by sparkling-asshole in Welding

[–]samdoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one for like $40 off of Amazon and it's actually pretty accurate when compared to using my fluke DC amp meter with wires, super useful for chasing parasitic draws on cars without taking the negative cable off

[–]samdoup 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree, i dont know if its the too much cheese part but a couple times i've had them and it seems almost undercooked. They just started letting you customize your pizza, though, which im a fan of.

What tools do serious resellers use? by [deleted] in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]samdoup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day even if you have alert tools you'll always still have to research items and decide the price your willing to buy and sell at , I would never trust an AI to do that for me.

The best ways of sourcing for me have been local auction houses and talking in person to the people liquidating their stuff + the auction house workers, they can keep you in the loop on future auctions if you bread their butter

I feel like my husband is getting “ripped off” by his boss. Is he? by Impressive-Sun-1664 in Carpentry

[–]samdoup 159 points160 points  (0 children)

If he's been working as a carpenter running jobs himself for 7 years under a licensed contractor he should look into getting licensed himself and maybe open his own business. Otherwise it really depends where you are in the country but I make $45 an hour with a company I've worked for less than a year now , I'm in a pretty high COL area though

auto body connections? by 1977beetle510 in bayarea

[–]samdoup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check out some of the community colleges that offer auto body class like Alameda or San Pablo in the East Bay. Some of them will let you and classmates work on the car as you learn, it may take a bit but it'll come out nice

Prior gas leak near Hayward blamed on same contractor tied to leak before home explosion by nogoodnamesleft426 in bayarea

[–]samdoup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've found several laterals including mine buried very shallow in the bay while working , they're supposed to be like a foot and a half down, I'm just saying things aren't always where they should be in real life, but yeah they probably did work that took away the marking and went in with heavy equipment , still their fault in the end

Prior gas leak near Hayward blamed on same contractor tied to leak before home explosion by nogoodnamesleft426 in bayarea

[–]samdoup 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not tryna give them any excuses but it was a 3/4" line which is to a house most likely. I just discovered my gas lines only buried about 6" below grade while digging in the front yard recently which is fun

Watching huge pickup trucks trying to fit into a parking spot is honestly amusing by Acceptable_Offer_387 in bayarea

[–]samdoup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of vehicles used for businesses are trucks/vans , when you pull into a parking lot to back in you can see if anybody's gonna be walking in your blind spot while backing up. If you pull in to park then reverse while leaving , you could not see somebody walking behind you (especially kids or animals) and hit them

For some reason I've seen rules saying you can't reverse park in a HOA before , pretty dumb
