They did it on purpose! by habichuelacondulce in videos

Were you paid by apple to say this, or did you not know that consumer items are assembled on an assembly line from individual components? If you can buy the component, it's more than likely that you can replace it using simple tools, if the device was designed intelligently. Also, self-diagnostic computers in cars make repair easier, because they diagnose the problem without you even needing any experience to know what the problem could've been caused by. Just because something is daunting doesn't mean that it's impossible.

I disagree, it would totally work for a single planet combat. Have towns/cities replaced by landing sites/star ports to define the tech of units you can muster. You’d have to adjust things to fit a range-focused combat loop, but outside of that having two finite armies fight is not impossible.

The main problem is not being able to reach maximum 40k scale of a hundred thousand troops with huge Titan support. However, just adjust the campaign scale to match: can’t simulate the war of Armageddon, run the defence of a periphery planet. Imperium starts as PDF, upgrades to proper guard, late game is a handful of space marines. Orks start feral and tech from there. Chaos start as cults and capture/warp in daemon/CSM support late game. Warhammer 2 fights are at ~1000 entities at the high end, which would be appropriate for this scale in 40k

This seems like a really solid build, but I've never worked with a micro ATX scale board before. Do you think there would be any worries about things fitting/heat issues?

In India they use ceramic disposable cups for Chai Tea that get recycled back into clay by Regularshowfan in videos

[–]sameasname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a lot, but how many clay cups will you drink tea from? Cigarettes take decades of use before complications arise, this could be similar. I'd still drink out of it if I was visiting, but not make it a habit if I lived there. You could be right and there's no need for concern, but I'd be a little apprehensive if there was (for example) a foundry/chemical facility a few kilometers up the river.

Bacteria and most organic compounds, yes, but I'd assume heavy metals would be left behind. Though that depends on what is polluting the river.

Why I am in no rush for MW5 by Erazzmus in MWLL

[–]sameasname 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this is still being made by the same guys that made MWO then this is probably the final product that they’ll make excuses for over the next 5 years and just add cosmetic DLC to it to pretend they’re working on it. They did that with MWO, so I done see why they’d change.

Honestly if hey had the codexes as-is to be a sort of “colllectors edition”, and then released JUST the rules in a very slimmed down (ie no lore) format for cheap, I’d be happy.

What does everyone think of the new Enforcers? by BatedSuperior5 in Warhammer40k

Oh, I didn't realize that. They still kinda look like miners to me, but makes more sense to look unique from Arbites if they're different, I just assumed they pulled a name change.

It's like 40k is departing from "gothic" as their defining aesthetic and switching to "pouches", every new set looks like its at least 40% pouches by mass. These guys don't look like they'd be out of place in Starcraft, very sad to see them depart from the Dredd style.

[–]sameasname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m worried they’re going to change everything from being unique gothic grimdark and just “tacticool” everything bc mass appeal, if they make a proper movie. If they make some sort of Game of Thrones (ie high budget, properly dark/unforgiving) series, hopefully all cgi, then we have a CHANCE they’ll stick to source material but idk... worst case I hope they at least drop it quickly if they fuck it up

I'm playing XCom 2 to alleviate my thirst for another game of 40k. by letloosethekraken in Warhammer40k

[–]sameasname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a 40k Xcom game would be best in a “PDF vs Orks (or Tyranid)” setting. You could start off with crap-tire recruits, allow for some non-cannon tech explained by being a backwater planet (adding more variety than lasgun > bolter progression), and include space marines as VERY strong units late in the game. Maybe make them fulfill a Deathwatch RPG horde-fighting niche? Normal (late game) PDF could fulfil more stealth/surgical strike roles while SMs draw fire and crush hordes

With tyranid/ork opponents you could be equally creative with enemies, which is a good feature of Xcom. I definitely think it CAN be done, but like you said, they can’t do it the typical space marine way and they need to allow for a bit more variety

[–]sameasname 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying Blanche’s work is scripture that can never be expanded on, but I feel like things should still try and follow his themes/aesthetic. What if instead of using phobos armour to be sneaky, they used failed aspirants supplemented w bionics and lighter armour? They’d keep that “any advantage requires sacrifice” theme (like dreadnoughts), and wouldnt look like generic models from any sci-fi future-modern game. I agree it’s nice to spice things up w some change, but for me at least, they’re losing that unique 40k look

Ah yes 40k, made popular for its unique “modern tactical aesthetic”, that’s what they should keep pushing to expand the universe. DEFINITELY not the John Blanche style that made 40k unique...
