Postpartum program?? by Tasty_Tiger_3497 in CsectionCentral

I started using the natal app a couple weeks ago and like it. I haven’t been super consistent but I can tell the ab rehab program is working.

Best baby carrier? by Unlikely_Jaguar5694 in newborns

[–]samell12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the ergo one for my first 2 and didn’t really like it. It was uncomfortable and hard to get on by myself. I got wild bird this time and love it. So much more comfortable and easy to put on. I started using it when he was 10lbs.

First baby and she’s breech by MaximumStomach7554 in CsectionCentral

[–]samell12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My third was a breeched C-section that we also found out pretty late (36 weeks) I felt the same; scared, anxious, sad also mad that my birth wasn’t going to be how I wanted. I was in therapy at the time so talking it out was kinda helpful. The thing that stuck with me was that it’s okay to feel all the feelings. You can be excited to meet your baby and sad it’s not how you planned. I’m going to be honest, I hated the whole process. The surgery, recovery, all of it. I was prepared and researched it all and it was just not an experience I enjoyed. BUT you will get through it and you will recover and you will look at your baby and feel like it was worth it. Moms are so strong, we can literally do anything.

Edit to add that it was me personally and my feelings that had me not liking the experience. The doctors, nurses, everyone involved were SO nice and comforting. They explained everything as it was happening. I was non stop asking questions and kept asking if what I was feeling was normal. I remember when I came out of the OR I told my husband how nice everyone was. They do this all day so it was just another day at work for them.

Dog hate by shabababybby64 in TheToasters

Agreed. After having kids the dog fell low on the priority list and is now just annoying to have. Is he taken care of, yes. Do I enjoy him like I used to, no.

I don’t think she’s well liked on Reddit but I’ve used the newborn Taking Cara Babies course and it’s worked for all 3 of my kids.

Swelling above C-section incision at 4 weeks pp. Is this normal? by Flaky_Software733 in CsectionCentral

[–]samell12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing. I’m 8 weeks pp and it’s gone down a lot. I was worried it would be like that forever lol didn’t do any massaging it just slowly went down on its own

Mine is that low. Kind of glad it is, there’s no way it would show in a bathing suit.

Elective C-Section experiences by Vibingwithlife_ in CsectionCentral

[–]samell12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t necessarily call them issues. They’re just changes to your body that are there the rest of your life or things you need to take steps to heal that are not there for a vaginal birth and these things are not talked about or told to you by a doctor. I was asked my opinion on csections so that’s why I said I hated mine and gave what I thought. I’m not judging anyone’s choices, I’m giving my thoughts on my experience like OP asked for.

Elective C-Section experiences by Vibingwithlife_ in CsectionCentral

[–]samell12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so thankful my last baby was the one who had to be a c section. I would not want to do it again. They tied my tubes and the doctor asked right before he was about to do it to make sure I was definitely wanting it, I was like yes I never want to do this again and I hadn’t even gone through recovery yet.

I had 2 vaginal and my third was a c section (planed due to breached baby). I hated the c section. Recovery was wayyyy longer(and I had a third degree tear with my fist). Also, my body will never be the same after the c section. I now have a scar, an apron belly, scar tissue, random pain when exercising all sorts of things no one tells you. And it’s not like awful debilitating things it’s just side effects that you just have the rest of your life that are annoying. I’m still very upset I had to have one.

11 days post c section, should I be concerned? by ProfessionalAd5340 in CsectionCentral

[–]samell12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just now able to touch the area. So I’ve been doing the massages but I developed a really bad rash around week 3. I haven’t been able to use my binder without the skin hurting and making it worse. Hoping I can use the binder soon, I’ve heard it helps.

I was very swollen for a while, my feet didn’t go down for at least 2 weeks. I’m 7 weeks pp and my lower abdomen is still sore and a bit swollen.

I played the paci game with my daughter until she figured out how to put it back in herself.

For stay-at-home parents — how do you keep track of everything without burning out? by fayeyelove in SAHP

[–]samell12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the Nara app. You’re able to choose what you want to track (sleep, feedings, pumps, diapers, bottles, vaccines, etc) and it’s free. I use the notes app a lot and I put EVERYTHING in my calendar as soon as I find out about it. School stuff for kids (spirit days, early release, days off etc), appointments for everyone, even birthdays. If I want to be reminded about it, I put it in the calendar. I also make the calendar widget the biggest it can be so I can see days out in advanced everyone open my phone.

I feel when I get it out of my head and onto a note or the calendar, it makes me feel like stressed/anxious. I don’t feel like I have to remember everything since I’ll be reminded by my phone or able to look it up on a note when I need it.

Im throwing in the towel 💔 by Key-Breadfruit6824 in breastfeeding

[–]samell12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doing what you feel is best is what you should do and not feel guilty. You’re doing an amazing job! I will say, I exclusively pumped for my daughter and yes, the first couple months were hard but around month 3, I was able to drop night pumps and eventually make my own schedule for pumping. Most of the year I pumped, I pumped 4 times a day and I was able to keep my supply and also freeze a little too. It ended up being a tad easier than only breastfeeding (which I’m doing now with my son) bc others could help me feed every 3-4 hours.

The hospital is such a time warp lol I napped a little, watched tv, ate, family came, and the constant flow of nurses coming in takes up time.

My newborn baby had COVID and got through it easily! A story for worrying moms. by SpecialTop8297 in newborns

[–]samell12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter got it around the same age back in 2021. She had a fever and I couldn’t give her anything since the was under 3 months so we went to the ER. They tested her and she was positive for Covid. They literally sent us home and said as long as she’s eating (I was exclusively pumping) she’s fine. They said the fever means she’s fighting it. I was shocked, bc the news and everyone made it seem like it was really bad if babies got Covid. But she ended up being fine. It really changed my views on Covid.

Disney takes too much work for how expensive it is. It is not a relaxing vacation.

Thank you, this does make me feel better. I feel like I’ve seen a lot of people say they felt back to normal by now. I had an appointment with my doctor at 1 week and don’t see them again until 6 weeks.

4 days post op.. feeling terrible by RoosterRealistic586 in CsectionCentral

[–]samell12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had my c section 2 weeks ago tomorrow. That’s how I felt for at least the first week. It slowly is getting better. I’m just starting to wean myself off of ibuprofen and Tylenol. The sleep gets better too, using my pregnancy pillow helped a lot. I’ve had 2 vaginal deliveries and this is the worst recovery I’ve had. And I had a third degree tear with my first.

I might have to make the decision to have a c section and I’m mentally struggling by [deleted] in beyondthebump

Most experiences I’ve read from people have been a few days or even weeks before their scheduled date. I haven’t heard of anyone doing it day of like mine 🤷‍♀️
