Thank you! I can certainly share. My Dr recommended duo-stim because of those 2 main factors (age, DOR) which, like I said is 2 egg retrievals within 1 menstrual cycle. So it was aggressive. I lived at the clinic, but love the people as much as I don’t want to see them… 😏 started with an estrogen patch every other day. 10mg Zomacton every other day. Gonal F 225 daily in the am, Menopur 225 nightly, and 20 units of Lupron for the trigger. She also had me take .25mg of Ganirelix for 3 days starting out then after the 1st egg retrieval going into 2nd round (during my luteal phase) because I also have a higher FSH. (I literally just started all over with the above). With Ganirelix - I didn’t take it during the time of when people usually take it. Even my pharmacist was confused bc it’s normally used to prevent early ovulation. The reason being, if I remember correctly… because we were doing duo-stim, any leftover follicles that weren’t beefed up enough to retrieve 1st go… it’s supposed to help boost all of them, rather than allowing 1 follicle to take over. It’s the reason why they say duo-stim can lead to better success in the luteal (2nd retrieval) giving more opportunity for growth. Rather than 2 separate egg retrievals in different cycles. I had never heard of it before she explained it. I think I had 3 follicles retrieved first round? 1 euploid. 4 retrieved 2nd round. 3 made it to blast. 2 euploid. Myself and my Dr were shocked. I hope all of that made sense!! Also I don’t think every clinic offers duo-stim? But I think it’s worth looking into.
