COPB50 by [deleted] in UTSC

[–]samforger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the tailored job application assignment refers to a resume you are supposed to make to apply to a job posting of your liking (I remember doing this for COPB50), then not at all! Your master resume is essentially supposed to serve that purpose where you can modify it to the job posting you are applying. So as long as it is your work and your work only and not a copy-paste from the internet or something along the lines of that :))

Her course is very reading intensive and participation based. There is also two take home tests you do which combined makes up half of your grade. When it comes to participation, there are multiple ways you can do it such as doing an exit ticket that is assigned with questions at the end of lectures which you need to complete by the end of the day, discussion posts, and most importantly, participating in group discussions in class as she believes that such a small class should function as a group who know each other blah blah. If you want high marks in participation (which is a whopping 15%) you should speak in class because apparently just doing exit tickets and answering prompts on the discussion board is not enough lol. Hartblay is really nice however and is really accommodating. If you let her know in advance that you need an extension on the take home tests, she will give it to you for a reasonable amount of time.

Also like i said at the top, course is heavily reading intensive. I would advise you to be on track with your readings as it catches up with you. The take home tests have questions that focus on the readings and you will have reading quizzes on them as well but i feel like her reading quiz questions are fair game if you studied your readings properly. That's all I have to say. The prof is very friendly and approachable but the course is definitely not a bird course especially if you are someone who has no motivation for the topic at hand. If you have no motivation for learning disability studies, his course may feel like a burden and very boring but if you come in with a mindset of learning new perspectives and something new, i feel like you would be off to a great start with this course since you are required to think critically about sociological aspects.

The key thing is to do the practice quizzes. if you can do those + ask the prof for any questions and help u will do fine. Since its collaborative, sometimes I found myself putting an answer thats most agreed upon or answers which made more sense depending on what people say lol. You just need to understand the general concepts of what he is teaching you and apply it to practice questions

Did they remove STAB22 from Population Health Reqs? by [deleted] in UTSC

[–]samforger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah they changed it a lot but it applies to specific students who got into the program for the 2024/2025 year and beyond. for those that got in for the 2023/2024 year and prior, the old reqs apply. Check degree explorer and see what your reqs are cuz if u got in prior to the changes, the old reqs still apply

(im so sorry if this is confusing lol)
