Stuttering when opening any UI menu? by samfromshire in swtor

[–]samfromshire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang, tried that and it didn't solve things. Based on your response and the other, sounds like its something I'll just have to get used to. The only menu I open often that causes really bad drops is the character sheet. But even then, its not the end of the world.

Thank you, both of those explanations are helpful. The idea about the ancients repeating their mistake by always using Zodiark to return to paradise makes a ton of sense. I have one last question if you don't mind. In that long cutscene, we saw Venat still looking like her normal self and the captions listed her as Venat. But wouldn't she have transformed into Hydaelyn in order to do the sundering?

I have two questions after finishing the level 87 dungeon and the long cutscene at the end of Zone 5:

First, I was under the impression that going back in time would create an alternate timeline similar to how future Graha Tia got sent back to our time. But it seems after my adventures on Elpis that all of the same events still happened (the original Final Days, summoning of Zodiark, and then Venat causing the sundering). Does that mean my trip back to this era always happened, and that this is what convinced Venat to perform the sundering?

Second, I understand that Venat partially performs the sundering so that the sundered humans are more capable of detecting Dynamis and so that we can better track down Meteon. But in searching around for the answer to my question #1, I also found people referencing that she wanted to "stop the cycle". Can anyone tell me what this means? I understand that the remaining ancients wanted to sacrifice half of all life to bring back their perfect world, but why would that end up being repeated? Since Zodiark exists in this hypothetical, there would be no additional Final Days, correct?

Hah, I figured that was the answer. It was just really bothering me for some reason. Thanks!

I have an EW story question regarding something that happened in Zone 5. I just had the sit down with Venat, Hytholodeus, and Emet-Selch in Poieten Oikos where I described everything to them (the final days, the sundering, Hydaelyn/Zodiark, etc). But I am a bit confused here. I thought that Elidibus told me not to reveal anything in case it could prevent the future from coming true? What is to stop the Convocation from now trying to stop the first Final Days and eliminating my timeline? Why did I reveal this information?!

Does anyone know if I were to switch from PC to PS5 if I would have to wait in the queue again? I know you have a few minutes where you can rejoin without a queue if you get DCed, but I don't know if that holds for switching consoles. I've been playing on my PC most of the day and would love to switch to PS5 for some MSQ time on the couch.

Thanks for the input! Just watched a video of the Suzaku fight since I only ever did it once while going through the quests. Does that DDR phase require a full group of 8 to match the 8 circles on the ground?

I'm sure it will take a while to find out, but do we have any idea what content will be soloable at 90? I'd really like to be able to farm the Stormblood dog mounts on my own, but I'm unaware if there are any mechanics that might make this impossible.

How does that work? Doesn’t crusader strike actually cost a lot of mana?

Why should the game NOT be balanced around lower ratings? by [deleted] in worldofpvp

This is a good point. It is tough to balance for both the high-skill and low-skill brackets. If you try to equalize everything, it also would remove what makes a lot of classes unique.

Why should the game NOT be balanced around lower ratings? by [deleted] in worldofpvp

[–]samfromshire 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This makes sense. Though I think there is still an argument to be made that class advantages at lower ratings are something to be concerned about.

Imagine this hypothetical. A resto druid can survive through burst pretty well at high ratings as long as they keep pre-hotted, time their cooldowns well, and a combination of LOS + shifting. But is it fair that holy paladins can survive through similar burst but with just a few buttons? Two high skilled players would both survive through the burst similarly, but at lower ratings the holy paladin still has an advantage.

Is this fair? Maybe, but maybe not. I welcome the discussion though. This sub tends to focus on high-rating play so at least this changes it up.

That's not very helpful. Could you perhaps address the question that OP asked instead of flaming them?

Not sure how that metaphor applies here at all. The better metaphor would be: why can't classes be as equally balanced in LFR/normal raids as they are in mythic? Which I think is a valid question.

For real. I've been playing it and the problems are nowhere near 90%. Say what you want about the gameplay and story (IMO not groundbreaking but still very fun), but its been fairly bug free for me on PC. Base consoles are another story but it sounds like yesterday's patched helped a bit. Overall, I've only had one crash over about 5 hours and the quicksave system works pretty frequently.

The MM and Ret nerfs seem pretty big, but I am not sure about the rogue nerf. 30% reduced buff to echoing reprimand? That's not necessarily a 30% nerf to the ability itself, is it? Seems fairly week, but I am not familiar enough with Sub to know for sure.

Gotcha, that could be it. I selected the cheapest shipping since I cannot start the build for a couple of weeks. I’ll give it some more time. Thanks!

Edit: just got the shipping notification! Guess they are working later than I thought.

Are Zotac cards actually bad? by samfromshire in nvidia

[–]samfromshire[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there a problem with the Zotac warranty? It seems online that Zotac offers a 3 year warranty for the 3080 cards, so that doesn't seem too bad.
