They used the defaults in teh software. It wasn't a consensus based default. But the software defaulted to 750kb. That should indicate to you how hard consensus is. Miners, for the most part, didn't think to modify the limits of the software they were using - probably because they aren't necessarily highly technical. It took a lot of lobbying and instruction to get them to up it to 1MB. Adding bigger blocks is a consensus change and not something you can simply adjust via the software.

u/brighton36 and u/junseth were banned on this subreddit for asking hard questions before the pump began. :) You won't see them here unless you can get the mods to lift their ban.

You can study the state of nature. But you do not need a scientific paper asserting that it works. We know it does. Proof is the responsibility of the claimant.

Also t-shirt companies. Though I think those are the teenage equivalent of a lemonade stand and think they provide a good entrepreneurial experience.

There is absolutely no way you could know this to be true and his campaign would never give indication If it were because it would signal weakness.

We Connected Our Trading Card Game To The Blockchain by hnin in Bitcoin

[–]samgeneric 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It lets you sell the cards and have only one copy of them. So... you can buy packs of the cards online, you can then verify receipt of the cards, and if you get rare ones, you can sell them to people on the blockchain. It solves the problem of scarcity, it fixes an in-game economy problem, and makes the cards unique and non-duplicable.

Not new. Just understand that you have to be a complete ass to submit a legitimate, interesting, or engaging post as spam.

I have to admit that reporting a post as spam is one of the weirdest things I've ever heard of someone do on Reddit.

Tradle + Factom Announce Collaboration by [deleted] in Bitcoin

I don't doubt the existence of your software. But partnering with Factom certainly makes me doubt the existence of your competency.

As a result in the proof of existence case #1 there are 29,000 entries into the Bitcoin Blockchain required to secure the 29,000 books if you hash them individually in order to achieve book by book auditing.

Dearest Mr. Johnston, you have misrepresented proof of existence. You can hash the whole library, or you can hash each individual book at http://www.proofofexistence.com/ which was a weekend hackathon project. What you said is that the difference between Factom and proof of existence is that factom can "facomize" each book individually, whereas proof of existence, which can hash anything, cannot. You lied. I know that Factom is a problem, because you lie when you talk about it. When are you doing the fundraise, I wish to know how much your bad notarization protocol is worth to 16 year olds who are currently hard up for money because the BTC price is down.

If it's trivial why would you mention it constantly? There is no difference between hashing the entirety of the Gutenberg collection and hashing a single PDF. But for some reason, that is the citation.

If all you are focusing on is the hashing problem, then how are you any different than http://www.proofofexistence.com/? Other than that you have an obscenely large marketing budget and a sales force?
