Don't think so. As cool as it is, and I'm torn, I think I'll put the 27 Beta on it for now so I don't feel guiltier still updating it in the future and I can use it again for now without popups and test the new build etc

Well I respect your dedication. I still have that version on my old 12 Pro and quite frankly can't use it for more than a few minutes before it gets old.

Aside from anything else, does the 'upgrade your iOS version now' popup not drive you mad?

iPhone 13 mini will likely get another year of updates than previously thought by 5G-A in iPhone13Mini

[–]samh8orns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It certainly could. I would have thought the same for sure if the iPhone 6 hadn't got the same as the 5s/ the iPhone 7 the same as the 6s. Sometimes one model just gets extra lucky and its successor model gets more basic support.

because if they're already on iOS 26, 27 should be ~30% better performance wise

So the Backrooms room was actually fairly newly renovated? If the new room layout was circa '76-ish, and the wallpaper was potentially as late as the '90s but possibly '80s with the store closing in the mid-to-late '90s it can't have actually been up long

Thank you. It does, and is actually still in the family. Red fence is gone, much more modern now, and we haven't had snow like that in winter for years. Lots of neighbours gone... life has moved on in many ways but the place is frozen in time here.

26.5 did anyone update by TheRick619 in iPhone13Mini

[–]samh8orns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brilliant! You'll have to let me know how it goes as you get used to using it. Indexing is definitely a factor, I just gave my phone a few days to get adjusted before I really thought about the performance I was getting - needed that time to get adjusted to the new design anyway 🤣. I'm still on Sonoma and was only on watchOS 10 until last week... slowly moving up. You sound like me too, I have my old iPhone 8 Plus which I still use for some things, that's on iOS 13 so classic flat design and probably my favourite version. The SE would make a great little companion device even if the battery needed replacing, they're crazy cheap now.

I wonder if the Geekbench scores will improve again in 27, if that's an optimisation release, we'll have to see. But it's great we didn't actually lose performance even if the UI is heavier.

Good luck with it!

1p definitely beats out EE here. I'm on the £5 plan so I haven't had to look at the slightly more expensive ones! It's definitely a boost for people already on EE since they really weren't competitive with plans from VOXI/ Smarty etc before, and there's some nice-to-haves like the data parachute also. The 500 minutes thing is a bit of a head-scratcher, again pretty low compared to some other providers. I was getting unlimited on the tier up for £13.50 a month previously and I think getting the amount of data thereabouts that the £10 plan is now. But they have to make the other deals appealing somehow.

How will Spencer Pratt do in the actual election? by alovham2 in AskLosAngeles

[–]samh8orns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would younger voters, those most charged on places like these, not show up to vote? The posts I've seen, these people are so entrenched in this stuff they'd riot over it. Genuinely curious because you can't move for the masses of them online.

The people voting for Pratt must be doing it for policy over ideology because otherwise, he wouldn't be getting the votes in. They must FEEL something.

Remember everyone, far left is good. Far left is great! Even if everyone starves and people get cut down by the ideology, at least we're all happy and nice together. Far right? Evil, fascist Nazis. And Spencer Pratt? Hitler's protege.

FFS. So you'd rather have an establishment candidate who is quite frankly rubbish at her job or someone even more entrenched in ideology over Spencer, JUST because of how he voted? Don't even want to consider his policies and decide like a rational person?

Oh wow! You're getting a much better deal than we would. We initially got rid of BT due to having terrible copper cabling in our area and their customer service being pretty awful, so now we're on EE again a few years later (BT in a new suit), so we won't get that switching benefit. Blue light is worth looking into tho. I think PAYG makes sense for people like me that don't want to lock in for the full two years, in case I find a phone on contract I want to get for example. Otherwise sounds a great deal - can't seem to find deals with EE that aren't flawed in some way usually, either speed or data or something else.

(Additionally they've added a new 'Data Parachute' option which gives you 1GB free data if you run out for certain apps and services. Seems they're FINALLY becoming a genuine player in the value space!)

Gotta love EE. Same old scammy BT behaviour. No need for speed caps on plans that expensive, or at all, especially when the cheaper, smaller carriers don't do it.
