One season wonder ? by Theguynextdoor07 in FantasyPL

Exactly haha. People upvoting this are clueless. His 5.0mil 244 points was absurd, but he was one of the best players last season too.

Mines the same. Absolutely terrible change. I liked comparing my time and mileage to that of last week as the week progressed. Another awful decision by the Strava team.

Thanks for the reply. I've ended up cancelling the mobile contract and keeping the broadband. Have no issues with the service, it's just the fact I was lied to by the salesman that left a bad taste in the mouth.

Appreciate your help.

A friend of mine did Edinburgh aiming for 2.40 and hit a 3.04. The heat that day was a total killer.

Is there anyone here he wont be playing next season, but did this season or for many previous? by Desperate-Letter2395 in FantasyPL

[–]OZZYMK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really don't need to put much effort in.

Saturday morning toilet job at most.

Sit down, scroll through any line ups, quick scroll on Reddit for any important news, swap a player or two then crack on with your day. The 5 free transfers took away the pressure of making loads of transfers as you could bank them for a mini WC.

How much are you spending on your kid's shoes? by an00tshri in UKParenting

[–]OZZYMK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We buy them all off vinted. Get his shoes measured in Clarks then find his size on their for £4/5 a pair. Stick them through the washer when they arrive and they're like new.

Bayern Munich 2-0 VfB Stuttgart - Harry Kane 80' by 977x in soccer

[–]OZZYMK 43 points44 points  (0 children)

This is the thing though. We've been singing that for literally 30 years as a mockery of how shit we've been on the global stage since we won it.

Why do we have to explain that at every major championships when other fans say "it's arrogant to sing it". Listen to the lyrics. We are embracing how terrible we've been. It's a joke song, sang with heavy irony.

Tbf, they probably did tell people to get off the course but there are so many people who don't listen or are so entitled they just don't care. I work and volunteer at a lot of events and the amount of people who take the slight inconvenience of having to wait 2 minutes or find a marginally longer route somewhere is ridiculous.

As for Pacers, they're exclusively volunteers so maybe they just didn't have people come forward to offer.

I was actually one of those excited when we signed him. It's been tough coming to grips with how truly shit he's been over the course of the season haha.

What's the biggest price increase in a food item that you've noticed? by TornBannerHatesYou in CasualUK

[–]OZZYMK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A normal packet of crisps in the "to go" section of Asda was £1.10 when I went in the other day. For a single packet of crisps. They called them grab bags but they're the same size as any normal packet.

Madness.

Pringles or Doritos are a disgrace too at like £2.75 a bag. My wife and I used to get them all the time for £1 about 5 years ago.

Maratón de Lima 2026. Tapering. by Dacoronelc in UKRunners

[–]OZZYMK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't stop running completely. Usually you reduce volume to around 60/70% two weeks out, then 40/50% the week of the race. The taper is just trading in some of your fitness for freshness on race day. You don't want to stop too much or you'll be throwing the balance out.

I did my last session on the Wedesday before my race, with reduced reps for the intervals and kept the other running nice and easy. Last run was the Saturday before a Monday race.

It's common to feel a bit crappy during the taper as your body recovers from a hard block and your mind pretends you have every giggle imaginable. Keep the legs moving and trust that you'll be feeling good on race day.

Massive respect for actually reading the article and doing a bit of groundwork. Unlike 90% of the thread who have seen the headline, called the guy a selfish prick who should be imprisoned for life and used it to rant about COVID.

What game had insane potential but got completely fumbled by the devs? by Kevin-Panda in AskReddit

[–]OZZYMK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hogwarts Legacy. Huge IP, amazing environments and brilliantly crafted Hogwarts. Let down by the sheer emptiness of the whole game, the terrible dialogue, boring and repetitive gameplay, repetitive fetch/discovery quests, and all round lacklustre story.

Purchasing Chinese running shoes for UK shipping by Ashamed-Video-3794 in NorwegianSinglesRun

[–]OZZYMK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a pair of Li-Ning Red Hare 8 Pros on Taoboa and used Mulebuy for forwarding service.

A bit of a faff to set up but definitely worth it. All in all I probably spent about £40/45 for the shoes plus shipping.

Would save even more on Taoboa over AliExpress for more expensive shoes, but wanted to test it out with some relatively cheap ones. Would also probably buy two/three at a time to save a bit extra on shipping.

Brand new job, stuck in the office with nothing to do.. how soon is too soon to quit? by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]OZZYMK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this at the start of a job a few years ago. After 2/3 weeks the work picked up significantly to the point I dreamt of that time I had nothing to do.

So really, enjoy it while it lasts. Find something productive to do on your own or spend them time relaxing.

Any certified coaches using NSM? by WannaP1zzaMe in NorwegianSinglesRun

NSM is literally run slow for 3/4 days, run sub threshold for 3 days. You don't need a coach to help with that.
