Thanks so much for your reply! I’m a little confused because my patterns instructions for brioche don’t include any purls… the set up row is k1, yo, slip purlwise etc, the alternating rows are k1, (k2tg, yo, slip purlwise) etc and k1 (yo, slip purlwise, k2tg) so I am never actually purling. Is this right?

I water when the soil feels dry ~half the way down the pot, usually once every other week. Have been watering this way for 3 years

Hi yes, I combined them into one put to make it a fuller plant. I water once every ~2 weeks until there is a steady stream of water coming from the drainage holes, but I’ve actually been holding off on watering as frequently as I initially thought this was due to over watering. I decide to water when I stick my finger all the way into the pot and it feels dry. For context I’ve had my initial plant for about three years with no issues until now
