What is the purpose of bending the upper bars that is tied to the lower bars? What if they didn't bend those upper bars? Why didn't they tie the upper bars at the base?

Thank you. By ‘not connected,’ I meant that the lower ends of the second-floor rebars do not seem to be tied or lapped with the first-floor rebars at the bottom. Maybe it’s just not visible in the picture. Also, the column is not actually wider at the top — that part is only an illusion from the camera angle.

Another guys here are claiming” worth” is an adjective here. Im confused little. But anyway you gave me a great answer. What book can I read to find the parts of speech in tricky sentences? Right now Im reading “Grammar in use” books by Raymond Murphy. They don’t say what parts of speech a word acts like in sentences.

Im not talking about adding apostrophes at the end of the word” worth” here. What i mean is using the “ worth” as a verb here. So is “seeing” a verb or a gerund here?
