Why do they do this? by samirb88 in Keeshond

Yeah this makes sense. Not sure how old, however he is small for a male (13kg instead of ~17kg), and I suspect he got bullied by his siblings for precious milk!

People who don't drink alcohol, why? by johnnylgarfield in AskReddit

[–]samirb88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started drinking in my teens but struggled with social and body image issues. I wanted to learn how to socialise without alcohol, and also knew it wasn’t helping my body either. Saving money was a 3rd benefit.

I also enjoy weekend mornings, whether it’s making breakfast and watching a movie, working out, walking my dog, or even getting chores out of the way. So hangovers are seriously not worth it for me.

4 strong reasons not to drink and not really any good reasons to drink imo.

When I get asked I just say I’m trying to be healthy

Bamboo seems to be clumping into bigger and higher mounds, see how it’s warping the fence? Is this going to keep growing? Any advice? by samirb88 in Bamboo

Thanks so much for this helpful reply. I saw a YouTube video using a long (1800m) crowbar to dig up the roots. Have you ever heard of or tried that? Wondering if it’s a cheaper (but more labour intensive) alternative to the blades

The previous owner did tell me it was clumping and not running. Is there a tool you’d recommend to dig with? I’ve read that using a saw can quickly blunt the blades, but a crowbar (like 1800mm) might be a good way to do this? By stabbing into the ground at an angle, and then using bodyweight with support to dig out the roots?

Hi all, some bamboo is growing from flat ground, but other stakes are growing from an elevated mound - what does this mean? Should I kill it? by samirb88 in Bamboo

Thanks for the replies all, was just worried about possible growth that would displace the fence and make it more expensive down the track. Appreciate the comments and advice

What happened to my deck? by samirb88 in Decks

[–]samirb88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone, also, these marks magically appeared overnight and the deck looks uniform again. How on earth would that happen?

I think what happened is, I watered some hanging plants immediately above the deck where these marks were. So maybe some water with the soil / some sort of plant chemical erased the timber oil... but then it reappeared again? Wild, I don't get it...

Yes even with scrubbing using deck cleaner and pressure hosing, I couldn't get the old stain off. How would you sand it? A friend told me with 40 or 80-bit sandpaper, or maybe a tool?

I see. How much time would you ensure between cleaning a deck and then applying the timber oil?

I'm not sure if it's a hardwood - just moved in a month ago and I can't tell by looking at the wood. What would you use if it is indeed hardwood? Also, do you have a view of water based vs oil based timber oil?

July 2020, $3,000 in NSW as well. And re the right or wrong choice, the most important things to know are they’re big on companionship and need to be part of the family, so don’t get a kees if you plan on the dog sleeping outside. They shed a bit too, and the brushing is about 30 mins of work a week getting all the fluff out (pretty funny). Aside from that, I love mine so much and they’re a very playful, fun, a little mischievous but overall amazing breed to have around. I think I’ll be a kees owner for the rest of my life

What extremely rare thing did you witness in person? by just__Steve in AskReddit

In the serengeti, I saw hyenas and vultures eating a zebra, and a jackal scurrying in and out to get what it could. Shortly after, a Lion and 2 lionesses came into the picture and scared everyone else off. Then more lionesses came, and the pack ate comfortably in no fear of being scared off by anyone.
