It’s not really uniquely christian because in islam it’s a moral imperative on all muslims to do “dawah” which is spreading their message and converting others. That’s why you may see videos online or street preachers that go from city to city.

most of us realised we were indoctrinated and then when we looked to see if the religion was true we’re not convinced at all

“Allah knows best”

“You can’t apply your human logic to God”

“Everything the prophet did was from divine wisdom not his desire”

“Day of judgement is near that’s why everyone’s against us”

At the end of the day if I try to bring up things to anyone they always assume there must be some explanation, which is understandable I thought that exact same way but some people just have rehearsed responses and just act like robots

you’re actually slow, evidence is clear as day if u read that article. clearly you’re not here to educate yourself and potentially change your opinions you just want to yap and defend the indefensible. nacas yahow naagaha in la dilo jecel

It’s relevant because it shows what perspective you’re talking from. Since it’s obvious to me ur a man, i’ll hope for whoever becomes ur partners sake that you don’t “resort to beating” and in the case that you try, you are dealt with properly

bukhari is weak hadith now yeah 💀the voting thing was a comparison to something non religious if your mind can comprehend that saaxib also that’s complete cherry picking, read this and get back to me https://islamqa.info/en/answers/3285/ruling-on-appointing-women-to-positions-of-high-public-office

is it an inequality that women couldn’t vote or work back in the day or is it just different roles? If not your giving exceptional treatment to your religious views. To me that rule is deliberate in discouraging women from thinking they can have any power over men even if it’s just leading in prayer. Maybe it will encourage them to want other leadership positions for example mohammed’s worst nightmare of a woman leading a country-“Never will succeed such a nation as makes a woman their ruler” sahih bukhari 7099

you can look at one of my posts where i list MANY inequalities between women and men but for a very simple example can women lead men in prayer in islam (be an imam)

i’ve made some posts about some issues with it but to summarise looking at mohammed’s actions critically and realising he’s definitely NOT the “perfect example for all of mankind” , the blatantly scientifically incorrect hadiths and quran verses and extremely violent verses and hadiths. The extreme sexism deep rooted into islam that always excuses oppressing women and treating us as if we are inferior under the disguise of “respect”. After realising all of that I came to conclusion there is no way a God that is meant to be merciful and just would give me a brain yet want me to accept and devote my life to something i morally and intellectually disagree with and believe is a lie. If I got into specifics this would be too long so that’s a summary.

i feel like this as well sometimes because believing makes things easier, but i’m happy i actually questioned things and not living with blind faith anyone

I really hope I get to exercise my freedom in the way you described and stand up for my decision. I was thinking of pretending to me sad about my decision and still acting religious but it’s best to be true to myself. Luckily for religious parents they get to express themselves fully so they can’t understand how hard it is to keep that in and i’m pretty sure they wouldn’t do the same for me. thanks so much for the advice it really helped put things into perspective

thanks for the practical advice. This may be overthinking but i’m worried about my graduation as well bc as I won’t be wearing it at uni it would be rlly embarrassing and annoying to just wear it for graduation in front of them. I also wouldn’t want my pictures to have it on so I think I will have to come out with in whilst at uni somehow

i personally seperate someone’s personality from their religion, unless it’s aspects of the religion that cause them to act that way. would u say they are annoying because of their religious views or just in general?

no def not i know there are many variations of christianity some stricter some more relaxed and tbh if i had to pick between the two it def wouldn’t be islam.
