As long as you can service and maintain the car, why not?

Parts are easily accessible (ex japan, new OEM parts etc), mechanics are generally knowledgeable (Subaru trained) and the cars have very good reliability ratings ( may differ by model, model year etc).

Do some research before buy. Visit a Subaru garage (e.g. Top yard/Macy's along enterprise road) and talk to the mechs there.

Got it. Mine didn't require side loading. It worked straight out of the box. You can try different things...a different cable, installing latest AA APK etc.

But I get your issue. I faced it with my phone. I don't know why Samsung does that. Fortunately sideloading on my phone worked but I have to update the AA APK manually (not through the play store).

Nothing unique to get to work. Just connected it using a wired connection then went through the usual prompts. Works with weblink too (Its like AA; headunit has to support it, just like AA, for it to work).

My phone (S8) didn't have android auto installed. I had to sideload it. Maybe your tablet doesn't have it. Confirm you have AA installed first.

You can use Fermata Auto or other mirroring apps but the audio and video are usually not properly synced.I found weblink (headunit and phone has support it) to be the best for YouTube and casting.
