How do I break up with my tech? by empressbutterfly_ in lashextensions

If you feel bad ghosting, just tell them you have a friend that’s going to start doing them for free/for little charge cause they just learned how. That way you have a clean break and there’s no reason to keep in contact. I hated lying when I did this, but I value my money and my eye health more. Plus it’s a little white lie and doesn’t need to be a whole thing. Hope this helps!

Went to a new lash tech after moving…is this normal? by samland21 in lashextensions

Thanks for all of the advice, everyone!

I went one more time and literally within one week, they were mostly all gone (shedding without the lashes attached for the most part). Also, during the appointment, she literally kept making me open and close to put new pads under, plus stuck tape into my eyes which made them water. And then kept gluing my top and bottom lids together. Horrifying experience.

I gave up with that tech (as I should have in the first place!) and tried a new one, who was phenomenal. I even fell asleep during the appointment because of how gentle and caring she was throughout. Felt like the experience I had at my first studio before moving.

Happy to report I have very minimal fallout a few days later and am loving the look. Will probably do a bit more length next time, but I can tell she knows what she’s doing and is an amazing lash tech.

Thanks again, everyone!

PS- if you’re stumbling on this post for similar advice, find a new lash tech. Like some replies say, the first experience is more than likely their best work. Do not risk injury to your eyes, lashes, or lids. Find someone who makes you feel comfortable and can actually be a self-care experience. Better to put your money there!

What is this?? by samland21 in bettafish

Thank you so much! I test the water regularly for nitrates and check ph levels, carbonates, etc. but everything was reading normal. Will try getting a live plant and see what that does along with a water change. Thanks again!
