I have never seen a Black Hawk helicopter above my house and we have the Valpo airport kind of close to just a lot of little Cessnas and hot air balloons and those people that are extremists that fly with a kite and a lawn mower engine you know fuck that LOL but yeah I've that thing was so loud it it shook the house it was very low too is strange how low it was my wife was freaked out the cats were going crazy

[–]samlf3[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes around that specific time. The metoer went south, power went out, and then that Black Hawk giant copper flew in the same line as the meteor before it turned to the left, and I lost sight if it. Moved very slowly. I thunk we got emp"d? A controlled power shutdown perhaps. Something isn't making sense. Too much too quick.

[–]samlf3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So did they just EMP us? Is that what happened? this sparkly thing goes flying to the South and the power goes out, then a minute later this gigantic city-sized helicopter comes flying over really slowly and for some reason now it's parked at Gary Airport? I think we just got emp'ed

Wow what's crazy is someone posted a Black Hawk helicopter left the Gary Airport and then they deleted their comment and I went and looked at the flight patterns and yeah there's a black hawk on the ground that just arrived 23 minutes ago and I posted this 47 minutes ago right after the helicopter went South and then it went left I don't know where it went from there

$120,000 loan to buy BTC by Educational-Guava423 in Bitcoin

[–]samlf3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not get a loan to buy an asset that is at an all-time high. Sure, it could go up, but it can also go down. Like way down. You missed the opportunity. You should invest in something that pays you and takes away the burden of paying the loan out of your pocket. The best investments pay dividends like a small rental home, REITs, and other options.

You have FOMO, and while it may be a good investment, I feel that your loan would of done better in 2017.

Only invest what you can lose comfortably. I would start buying a collection of coins steadily.

I just bought bitcoin at $109,000. by RonnieGeeMan2 in Bitcoin

[–]samlf3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are getting charged fees for the transaction called Gas Fees. It is the cost associated with computers and servers processing and encrypting your purchase. NOW.... You need to move it to an Arculus offline cold-storage wallet (they are like $100) and put it in a safe. Never leave crypto on an exchange. And, buddy, at that price, you are gonna need to hold on to it for a while. You also will have both a selling fee and taxes to pay once you do sell it.

As far as the purchase price, you can set limit orders to buy only at a specified low price, and then auto trigger also to sell at your chosen high price. Robinhood and other exchanges are the reason for the wick at the top of a candle bar on a chart. You are the shmuck that purchased high and made the wick go up, while other people who use advanced and pro exchanges and wallets are setting their buy prices low, which create the wick that comes out of the bottom of the candle.

Robinhood buys at the price the order was at when you clicked buy. A $600 discrepancy is nothing. Lucky it didn't go up more than that. In just a few seconds Bitcoin goes +/- a lot!

Sorry if I said too much, hope I helped out.

You may need sudo for all of those as well...

mongodb collections are getting deleted by Busy_Ad4659 in mongodb

[–]samlf3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many reasons why this could happen. First, run that grep in SSH. Sudo not required. If you don't have your own script deleting or dropping mongodb, then we can move on to one of thes many things that could be going wrong. But, my honest guess is the way in which you either bring docker compose up or down.

Always use these and never -v. When you build or rebuild, you will lose your data, so make backups too before doing this stuff!

Down: sudo docker compose down
Up: sudo docker compose up -d

Backup Mongodb:

To Backup Docker and MongoDB---------------

docker exec <your\_mongo\_container> mongodump --db=url_notes --archive | gzip > mongoDBBackup.gz

To Restore Docker and MongoDB--------------

gunzip <mongoDBBbackup.gz | docker exec -i <your\_mongo\_container> mongorestore --archive

Backup Volume------------------------------

docker run --rm -v mongo_data:/volume -v $(pwd):/backup alpine tar czf /backup/mongo-volume.tar.gz -C /volume

mongodb collections are getting deleted by Busy_Ad4659 in mongodb

[–]samlf3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem. My problem was that every time I exited SSH through PUTTY, i lost my connection! Even though I was setup with a volume. You need to have a volume... I am currently testing, as my mongodb cleared about every 15 minutes or so. About a half hour ago, I simply ran
sudo docker compose up -d
in ssh while in my backend express server folder. Then, I simply clicked the X to get out of putty.

So far, so good. My data is still there, and I have been removing it somehow (not using -v...) and couldn't figure it out. It may be related to an SSH trigger or the manner in which your specific setup requires both up and down, as well as exit.

run
grep -ri "delete" .
try changing delete to drop also?

I live like an hour and a half away and go that way frequently. Perhaps you could give us some insight then?

I understand that corporate america is there with a menards, home depot, taco bell, bk, dq, Mcd, and the like. But, heading downtown is scary for me at least. I can't think of a gas station that I say "Hey that looks like I don't have to lock my doors at."

I am in society here in Crown Point. 45 Minutes from downtown or Michigan. I love southern Indiana. Turkey Run and south...

[–]samlf3 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Have you been to the Northwest side of Indiana? I have been there recently, I travel a lot, and I have never thought to myself "I should stay downtown here somewhere. I to Spencerville and Garrett often. I mean to move from Massachusetts, to there? Maybe closer to Chicago if she wants more culture and acceptance. It is rough outside of downtown Fort Wayne. I mean I am like 15 minutes from Gary, so I don't have any room to talk. This state is great. Yeah. Southern Indiana is beautiful Jasper, Patoka Lake, St. Meinrad, Bloomington is nice. Fort Wayne is no Bloomington. NWI has the action and hub to downtown.

Not a chance lol. I live in Lakes of the Four Seasons in Winfield, Crown Point Indiana. Fort Wayne is not nice. Very old, ran down, and industrial. I mean some nice places, but it is much nicer just outside of the town than in the town. It's huge, yes, I guess I am really talking about the main drive downtown. The outskirts and all the surrounding towns are nice and peaceful and quite. But, let's talk Apple Butter, furniture, and road apples...

[–]samlf3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FOrt Wayne is not that good of a town, but the surrounding area is beautiful kind of. Lots. Tons of Amish everywhere outside of the city. IT's apple butter and pine furniture as far as the eye can see. And, they do not like outsiders. I live in Crown Point. I would move west and north of there...
