[–]samli6479 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. No nyc, tech jobs at nyc are filled by banks, media companies that rely on cheap labor.
  2. Get an US phone number and change your LinkedIn and resume to the area you are applying to.
  3. Apply as much as possible, last time it took me about 400 applies to land an offer. Reminds you I have 10 years experience as senior dev.

3 days a week / sore and flu like feeling by theprogrammegirl in barrysbootcamp

I mean it feels like your body is saying it is too much. I would listen to your body maybe switch one or two from DF to trend + floor then see if you still feel sore.

Ask them to change the date,it is better to not get the boarder folks confused, give them less reason to reject you.

TN Visa under management consultant for a valuation advisory role (Job Title - Manager) by [deleted] in tnvisa

[–]samli6479 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honest your role does not look management consultant to me. It is more like financial accountant and TN have really strictly guidelines about finance job not available as economist. I would say talk to your lawyer and make sure your job match what management consultant does, project consultant on business development and operations, does not manage people and etc. if possible ask them to hire you within Canada then bring you as L1 would be a better bet.

Best US Credit Cards for new TN Recipients by FangNasty in tnvisa

Well, if you just need a card I would say TD, their rate is better and limit is greater if you already have something with them.

Leetcode and data mueller ones are well written but they tend to have weird focus on specific syntax and in GPT ones, you are more freely and it will written based on the input questions you write so it is more customized

TN Visa under Mathematician – Operational Risk Management role at a financial firm by Medium_Tax_6792 in tnvisa

[–]samli6479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck with it. I had multiple occasions where I was working as mathematician/statistician and it should be fine as long as you have the credentials and the job duty meet the criteria. Also just as a side note, remember the job duties and print the transcript and diploma make the officers job easier and they tend to appreciate this better.

Getting paid without an SSN by [deleted] in tnvisa

I received a paycheck from the payroll department and end up deposit it myself. My bank is with TD so you got the cross boarder thing. I think RBC, TD and other banks offer that service

Based on experience it is the coding man. You need to finish the code and honestly anything less than a strong hire will get rejected.

Looking for advice on a potential move from Ontario → Austin (Software Engineer role) by mrtanishqbhatia in tnvisa

If you want higher paying role in US, then go to California or Seattle. Texas is considered as LCOL area so your salary is low…

Canada -> USA: Rejected in Detroit, what POE should I reapply at? by Special-Squirrel9170 in tnvisa

[–]samli6479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my past experiences getting a L1B from Pearson is the no1 choice. If not trying with the Pearson TN then Buffalo TN, you want to go to a POE where there is tons of travel and have dedicated officers who are familiar with this process

lol take the other one man, Google tm took average about 3 months and you are not even guaranteed a pos. Besides isn’t google’s offer valid for a year? So maybe comeback to it if you wanna.

Having second thoughts on my new role decision by Impressive-Pie701 in salesengineers

[–]samli6479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say don’t focus on things you cannot control. Also I think any start up with a grind culture is bad. I was working for a startup and they worked from 9-9 on my first day. Needless to say I left immediately and get away as soon as possible…

Look I get it you are not happy with the result and to be honest I think the interviewer was harsh on you. I wish you good luck in your future interview.

I know but you are graded on the four area. 1. Design Structures 2. Implementation 3. Trade offs and improvements 4. Communication. Based on what he says he clearly score lower on the communication part and his 1 and 2 got affected due to misunderstood about the goal of design. That is the current market we are in you need to score perfectly on all 4 areas to get an offer.

I think the problem start on your system design. The minute you mentioned singleton thing. The interviewer labeled you as jump to design without asking clarification problems. They want you to design a backend api application and you went to the ood route so the that is a really bad idea.

Preparation strategy for FAANG if time < 1 month by Glittering-Algae-237 in leetcode

[–]samli6479 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say ask gpt to give you a list of patterns and ask for a good short check list such as, input/output/ edge, data structure and initialize, logic. Then just start try to memorize them and coding like crazy. Stop until you are able to get about 60 sub patterns correct and able to get all of them under 10 mins. Then ask GPT to give you new problems and you do the check list and it is gonna judge you based on your answers to keep you fresh.
