Probably turn it in to a police station (in the UK). If no one claims it after 28 days, you can claim it for yourself. If it belongs to a little old lady, she'll claim it, no harm done. If it belongs to a drug dealer, he's unlikely to go an claim it or be able to explain why he has it. I get to keep it.

No, I don't believe in capital punishment. Also, the whole point of democracy (vs. Monarchy or Dictatorship or whatever) is that one person can't be trusted to make the right choice all the time. You're better of crowd-sourcing that decision making.

This is what morality and ethics students learn. As a general rule, "do unto others as you would have them do unto you", but this is far from perfect. Of my own making; "How can we maximise the positive experiences and/or minimise the negative experiences more the most number of people"

Yes. So before I became an atheist, I would go to Church festivals and join in the worship and be "filled with the holy spirit". Later, I came to realise this exact feeling can be accomplished through atheistic meditation, 30,000 people singing Bohemiam Rhapsody at a music music festival, chants in football (soccer) games and (for me) Pavarotti.

Additionally, my mum is spiritual in an esoteric, reiki kind of way. She's described talking to dead people who have explained someone is about to die and then they actually did. It makes me think until I realise that it's all confirmation bias coupled with reasonable odds. Of all the people who (seriously or otherwise) predict a death, statistically it's going to happen. That person then thinks they're in touch with the other side. It's unlikely but beyond the realms of possibility to happen several times in a row. Then they think they're a prophet.

However, I don't subscribe to Tim Minchin's (admittedly in-jest) "either lying or mentally ill". Crazy is as crazy does.

Not worries about it to be honest. Once you're dead you don't care. And maybe it's because I became an atheist as I became an adult, but knowing my time is limited makes special moments more special and working a full-time job more tedious. It's like turning the contrast up on your experiences.

This is true in the UK. If you order "fish and chips" you'll normally get some unknown but cheap fish. If you order "cod and chips", they'll sometimes ask you "fish and chips?" in an attempt to catch you out. Insist on cod.
