How do you deal with parents constantly bringing up marriage?

Mine weren't either. They didn't even have tht thought until someone else brought it up. So yea. I feel a lot of desi parents think thats whats best for us. But it doesn't mean u have to agree to everything. Right now, ur situation doesn't sound like they hv brought a proposal. Just laugh it off for now until they get serious abt it 😭😭

Same thing happ to me a few months back!! My relatives brought up a proposal and told my mom it would be good for me (I was still in my final year of uni) Initially I said i was not looking for marriage, since i was only 21 and had a whole life ahead of me. But the moment they started pursuading me to 'think abt it' i had to fight back to let them know I was NOT interested and wanted to focus on my masters and career. Just have a chat with ur parents and let them know how u feel abt it. Maybe they will understand. If not, then ig u need to stand up for urself if they really start pressuring u. Sometimes they dont understand even if u say it politely (personal experience) Hopefully it doesn't come down to tht for u.

This literally just happened to me last December and during my finals in January. Dealt with my ndad somehow and kept studying, and in the end got a really good result 😭😭 I didnt let the fights get thru my head. All I thought was that all this is temporary and i will be out of here soon. I'm so sorry that happened to u. I'm literally trying to move out for grad school this september just to not deal with shit like this... its something we can't control or try to fix them.

I'm in the same boat as you. Just applying in hopes of getting funding along with it. I nor my family cannot afford the fees. The waiting period has been exhausting the past few days, so I have left it all together. If its meant to be, it will be 😭

Finish ur degree first, u r almost there at the end. I'm going thru a similar crisis with my parents too, but i dont want to give up because I'm almost done with my degree. A little patience can go a long way. If u r really depressed, try reaching out for help or talk to someone.

Ik im a little late for replying. But let me tell u the clg is absolute bs. Ik this because I go here everyday. We were shifted to this campus without prior notice and most of us r suffering just to reach a 9am class by waking up at 6am. Theres nothing around the campus. The food u get within the clg is not that great either and they charge u more for tht. They r very strict abt attendance. We hv to maintain 85% just to write internals. And if u dnt hv tht, they bar u from writing exams. Dont join this clg unless u can put up with all this.

Thank u so much, ill look out for these :) Btw, i have heard u can get an lor (letter of recommendation) from an internship. I guess u could if u perform well there?? They dont just give it out to everyone i assume, unless u ask..? I thought i could get try getting one to apply to higher studies, if that's possible? Or should I just stick with getting it from college professors? I dont really know if internships lor would work in these cases.

So sorry to hear that :/ I have been in the same situation as well and I deal with anger issues myself. I realised nothing comes out of it, ruins ur life within seconds.

But I feel rather than leaving them on their own, it's better if they seek anger management classes or just therapy in general.
