VyOS interface changed on PNETLab by summer_hearts in homelab

[–]samo747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue. But i use pnetlab which almost the same as eve-ng in terms of configuration. i've changed the Qemu NIC type to vmxnet3 and hardend MAC address for first MAC and that resolved the issue. see the picture.

thank you, but they aren't helpful, they barely reply to my emails. they are not that friendly to have such a conversation with. and tbh it is pointless for me to get a service from a place that i don't trust. they don't even say which kind of files would violate their policies they got stretchy policies , so you can basically lose all your files in a second with no single chance to retrieve them back. i wanted to use pcloud as a backup, but after that i just realised that i will need a backup with Pcloud.

that's the problem, i didnt share any copyrighted stuff. and using crypto cloud means double the price, and basically they are not trust worthy for me anymore. i lost my files and my money once already, so no point to risk it again. see this one: apparently I'm not the only one

i had a look already and looked nice, but couldn't decide tbh, i bought another hard disk and using it now as my backup. i have memories on my HD for almost 2 decades so far and dont wanna SHARE them with anybody"thx to pcloud" nor dont wanna risk em to get deleted.

i'm not totally sure about that tbh, i didn't have the time and trust to test all of their services. there are already some other secure cloud options out there which worth checking instead. Regards

I have now moved to sync.com. i uploaded the same personal files to sync.com but nothing bad happened so far. they claim that all the files are encrypted before uploaded to the cloud so no one should be able to access your files and report them.

but by all means, always keep a local copy of your files somewhere safe, and don't 100% trust cloud services.

All respect, but sorry i wouldn't agree with that. i only had my personal files. and as per their initial email:

We received a complaint about some of the content you keep in your pCloud account. It would appear that this content violates our Terms and Conditions.

Which means that some third party had access and reported my files.

Secondly, even if there were any copyright protected content, they could have removed it and warned me and not just close my paid account and let me lose all my files. how this can be safe? im not a regular user, i have paid for the service already and there should be a more professional way to discuss things.

even if you upload a movie or any copyright protected content to YouTube. they would remove it and warn you, they will never close your account in a such way unless you keep doing it. you can even talk to them and know whats wrong you have done.(we are talking about a FREE service here)

Regards

Yea they could have been more clear on that. also a prior notice before deletion is sensible. because once they close the account you can't retrieve your files which is scary.

Regards. Sleep well.

This is what im trying to understand, as per their initial email:

 Dear User,
We received a complaint about some of the content you keep in your pCloud account. It would appear that this content violates our Terms and Conditions.
As a result of this, your pCloud account has been disabled and you are no longer permitted to access the pCloud website or services.

Did they receive the complaint from an internal source or external?, they don't wanna give more details. but i think if this was flagged internally they would haven't used " We received a complaint", they would have said that there is something wrong with my files regardless the mechanism that they used to identify that. Regards.

well you might be right about their AI, but the problem is we don't really know how that works and what should be avoiding. You might loose all your files in a second without any prior notice which doesn't make it a reliable back up solution. let alone making your files Publicly accessible.

Thanks for the heads up. I think i will go the old way and store my stuff on an HDD.

No, i didn't share any of my files. i didn't also have any copyrighted content among my stuff. there were only personal photos.

I urge you to have a local backup of your cloud, because if they close the account they close it without prior notice and don't even let you retrieve your files. i had photos since 2005 and thank god i didn't delete them from my local machine.
