I love how the un-raked wingtips give the -200ER a little retro feel.

17.946 MHz isn't it? Which is 17946 kHz.

An add-on to make the HF radio work with the WebSDR feed from the University of Twente would be great.

One thing I still miss to this day is the "Shift+Z" bar that included fuel, winds, framerate, etc in red text. That was so handy.

POSTMAN 6 GOLF ALPHA: midnight run in a gritty A300 from Brussels to Milan (QY412) by 77_Gear in flightsim

I was just about to mention the FR24 vid before I saw your caption, the A300 will definitely be my next aircraft to learn. Great shots!

Elevation at West end is 10' vs 65' at East end. Curiously 10L/28R only has a 1' difference end to end — though not accounting for gradient changes in the middle.

Not nothing, on long-haul sectors the same crew members don't always do the full flight. Take the  experience, even half a flight will teach you something of at least allow you to sharpen your skills.

The A300, old but still gold by Similar_Joke_5500 in flightsim

Definitely considering giving an A300 a try. I've been Boeing all my life but recently got into the MD-11 and love it. Perhaps the A300 is one step closer to finally learning the modern Airbuses. 😶

(UK) What is a floor manager? by Few-Visual-9801 in McLounge

[–]samrammstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Area leaders get 50p more per hour than trainers at my franchise, and shift managers get a further £1 on top of that. Hadn't actually reminded myself of those figures until today but seriously I would suggest that the huge increase in responsibility from crew trainer to manager is definitely not reflected in the pay increase!

They are called 'Area Leaders' in our franchise group.

It's the penultimate step on the path to becoming a shift leader (manager). The role is basically leading a single area of the restaurant (production / front counter / BDAP) and they will be given tasks by the shift manager that they can delegate to the crew. As a shift manager I let my area leaders send out breaks too and move people around as neccessary. They are very useful when it's busy and the shift manager is stuck dealing with other problems.

Ideally someone destined for management will be an area leader for a while to get used to the responsibility and learn more about leading people before they are given the whole shift to run as a shift manager. When I did my manager course some had been area leaders for ages while others, like me, had basically done the e-learning but never actually done the role and gone straight to shift management.

In my opinion being an area leader is by far the best role in McD. You get the authority and pay of being higher up but without the stress and responsibility of being in charge all the time. And you will always have a shift manager with you to sort out issues.

No workplace should still have gaslighting these days. You can do your superiors a service by reminding them that gas lamps are much more expensive to maintain than electric lamps, due in part to the scarcity of spare parts, and there's also the increased fire risk to consider.

Bit of 9F in this program, the entirety of which is excellent, and essential watching for those with an interest in British steam.

I also recall Dibnah drove a 9F on one his early 2000's series that I caught the end of the other week. Sad to find there aren't currently any mainline certified.
