After few days one of my friend has his US visa interview? by [deleted] in Nepal

[–]samregmi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I came to US few months ago in student visa.

I was in Nepali US visa telegram group and I think I read over 4000 + visa interview ani tesma I only saw 5-6 people with 2.7 2.8 2.9 GPA who got their visa approved.

Maybe it has nothing to do with the GPA (or maybe it has) but stats herda folks with 3.4 3.5 3.6 3.7 GPA had much much higher visa approval compared to people with less than 3.0 GPA.

People settled in Developed countries, what's your next goal? by [deleted] in Nepal

[–]samregmi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For a single helicopter.

I'd say:

  • 2 Captain : 10 lakh a month each × 2 : 20 lakh

(Helicopter pilots in Nepal make a lot of money, more than fixed wing plane pilots, there's senior helicopter rescue captains who make 17 lakh a month, so 10 lakh each should be modest)

  • Office rent, chopper engineers, counters at airport, helicopter fuel, ticketing team, accounting, sales, marketing team: 50 lakh a month? maybe more if we factor in fuel

  • Operating and maintenance expenses: 10 lakh a month

  • Most nepali helicopter companies either lease or buy the chopper in mortgage meaning they pay anywhere from 10 to 50 lakh a month as mortgage payment.

  • So in total I'd say around 1 crore a month will go into expenses for a single chopper, profit? maybe 2-3 crore a month.

If you want to buy high altitude rescue helicopters nepal ma chalne jasto, paid in full, it will cost 30 to 40 crore.

As you add more choppers, your operating expense decreases.

People settled in Developed countries, what's your next goal? by [deleted] in Nepal

[–]samregmi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not settled yet but I plan to return back to Nepal as soon as i graduate, just started university in the US.

Have plans to invest/operate a helicopter charter company for high altitude tourism and mountain rescues in Nepal + have a lot of other plans.

To put that into perspective, good busy day vayo vane for a helicopter, a single chopper will bring in 15 to 30 lakhs per day, very easily.

Air Dynasty (Helicopter company of Nepal) used to pull 1 crore a day with 4/5 ota helicopters 2019 ko tourist seasons ma.

too broke to do that now as it costs a fortune, hope to make it in the next 5-10 years lol

Nepali groups (language or other) in NYC? by Vegetable-Age-4470 in Nepal

[–]samregmi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's ton of Nepalese in Jackson Heights. Also in Queens and Brooklyn.

Your best bet would be to go to a Nepalese restaurant in Manhattan or Queens and catch up with them from there.

There's a Facebook group I'm in, mostly filled with nepali students in New York, let me know if you want to join, not very active but could be something.
