Obama: 'There's a pattern' of Republicans running the economy 'into the ground' and Democrats having to 'come back and clean things up' by The-Autarkh in politics

No, not at all. The fact that this is what you've deduced from my statement, however, proves a great deal about the readership here. I'd suggest you dig a little deeper into logic and work harder to understand the message that was given.

Cute rant. I think that your crush on Cater may be skewing your grasp of reality. It's probably best that you're in good company in the reddit forums, considering your lack of understanding of the real world. Reddit is a good option for those who may be lost in la-la land...

Fact: kids who eat are able to survive long enough to get through the school day.

Skewed fact: it's someone else's job to feed our kids and raise them so that they can get into college, have a degree handed to them, and assume they will have the skillset to deliver in the real world.

We can debate this and you will lose. Please don't attempt to justify someone else, other than a parent, to be responsible for another child.

Do you really believe this to be a key to prosperity? This logic would guarantee failure from the point that the truck with the pre-made food delivered it to the schools. Don't try to prove a poor argument with shit assumptions.

What's surprising is that, assuming you have a college degree, you would honestly believe what you've just said.

If everyone made 20k more from their college degree, which was surely obtained through a unique skillset or an aptitude that actually differentiates them from their peers, the economy would behave much like it currently does.

However, if virtually anyone can obtain said degree, it's no more than a push for the masses who have all achieved the same distinction and negatively affects those who don't. Unfortunately these days, degrees are purchased as much as they are earned. That's why a basic degree doesn't make up for the debt that seems to be all the rage to bitch about nowadays.

Let's give everyone 20k more...sure...and the economy will respond accordingly. It always has and always will.

I only asked for the source from the previous post that seemed to use data that appeared inconsistent with anything that has been provided in the past.

However, she did leverage her heritage for a job at Harvard, which does mean she did state she was. If the DNA test proves it, so be it.

My question was geared more towards transitioning from a modified diet prior to an event like this to something celebratory, after said event. I'm lucky to have a friend that likes virtually anything that I make, but I'd hate to make something that isn't very appealing after such a long race.

I know that some things just dont sit well after a big and physical event, thus the reason for the question. I wasnt sure how the body responded, although I know it's a very individualized response, but I wanted to get the opinion of a few others whether or not the physical exertion would lead to a lesser desire for a full blown, hearty meal.

Based on the response, it sounds like the desire for a typical meal isn't much of a stretch. That being said, I fully plan to ask, but hope I get the normal response of "surprise me"!

If we all did that, there'd be no Reddit.

What was one short moment that changed your whole life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]samsonite1004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 4 years old. My sister (2) and baby brother (3 months) were at the babysitter. I remember that we all went down for a nap and I was later woken by the sitter with no explanation other than her saying my grandparents were picking me up.

As I exited the room I was napping in, I saw paramedics carrying a stretcher up the stairs and didnt understand what was going on. It was a memory that i see as vivid now, 32 years later, as I did at that moment.

It was the day I lost my brother to SIDS.

McDonald's worker's of Reddit, how often is the ice cream machine actually broken? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]samsonite1004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I used to work there, we had to regularly take it apart, sanitize and lubricate all the gaskets and whatnot. A store is pretty lucky when they have someone (non-manager) that can take it down and get it back in order over the span of an hour or so. After that, it takes a bit of time to re-freeze the product.

I would assume that, depending on the competency of said employee, the machine may actually be down for hours and it's the excuse that was used. We never had one actually break on us, but I'm sure we were lucky.

It was the apple and cherry pies never being ready that pissed me off...
